So everything's cool. As a commenter noted earlier: Racism, virulent anti-americanism, hatred, and support of terrorism are all fine for public utterance -- so long as you properly footnote your remarks.
Not to bring up something a little dicey, but if we're excusing hatred and racism simply if there's a footnote to someone in an official capacity in government...

And no, goddamnit, I do not endorse those remarks nor use them to bait. I'm illustrating the gag-worthy quality of Roland Martin's deep-throated (ahem) apologism, and what it is he's had to swallow to defend this. I'm surprised he didn't choke on it or vomit it back up.
