Danger: Avoid Death
Text on a warning label affixed to a small tractor.
Good advice I suppose.
This was the winning entry in the 11th annual "Wacky Warning Label Contest," sponsored by Michigan Lawsuit Abuse Watch, in which contestants attempt to win small prizes for finding the goofiest warning labels on products.
Second place? Message on an iron-on t-shirt transfer: "Do not iron while wearing shirt". And third place, a baby stroller warning about a small storage pouch that says "Do not place child in bag".
Contest organizer Bob Dorigo Jones says the silly labels reflect how broken America's civil justice system is.
"Predatory lawyers know they can file ridiculous lawsuits against innocent product makers and blackmail them into a cash settlement—even in cases in which a user has ignored common sense," Dorigo Jones said in a statement Wednesday.
I dunno Bob. There's an awful lot of stupid out there. The Preparation H product warning label is the stuff of legend. And just the other day an AoS commenter suggested a warning label might be needed for sausage grinders regarding insertion of a certain part of the male anatomy. If I recall correctly though it really just needed to say "Don't turn this on".
