Professor get 6 months for faked hate mail

If you're not getting any real hate mail, but you're a nut looking for a cause and vicious enough to frame up your own co-workers, you gotta fake some up and send yourself some quicy hate mail right? Get the ball rolling, prime the pump as it were right? The FBI was not amused that they wasted a lot of time investigating her fakery and she was the lucky winner of an (not quite) all expense paid 6 month vacation at scenic Club Fed.

A Case Western Reserve University statistics professor who admitted falsely reporting to the FBI that she received racially charged hate mail has been sentenced to six months in prison. Ramani Sri Pilla must also pay back $66,000 that the FBI and the university spent investigating her false claims...

I imagine her quest for tenure has probably only suffered a minor setback here.
