California Muslim Indicted for Supporting Brother’s Work with MILFs [VRWC Agent]

Families in crisis as reported on the Counterterrorism Blog Friday, so yes, I guess it’s a little old:

Today, federal prosecutors in California issued a 16-count indictment against Rahmad Abdhir (aka Sean Kasem), for providing material support fort [sic] a terrorist, his brother Zulkiflir Abdhir (aka Zulkifli bin Hir or Marwan).

OK, I know. Blood’s thicker than Semtex and boys will be boys. But still:

Zulkifli fled Malaysia to Mindanao in the southern Philippines around August 2003 and served as a trainer with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). He is thought to be the senior most JI trainer with the MILF.

That “with” part bothers me since it could mean “present among” or “a part of” and the difference is pretty important. I mean, I come from a pretty big family and have four brothers of my own. But if one of them was tapping me for cash so he could be a MILF, that would be the end of the gravy train. Working with MILFs? “Training” them? Hey, families are there to support each other. But actually becoming a MILF is crossing the line. I don’t want any of my hard earned bread going to some hairy guy’s MILF T-shirts and embroidered MILF jackets or even sarongs and the skin of a Nina Hartley love doll just in case someone has to make an unscheduled exit during a raid. Sorry, bro, that’s just how I roll. There is no way something like that is going to end well for anybody.

Still, it generally looks like brother Zulkifli had his head on straight. He “trained” them, probably spent hours in the bush with them and generally got the MILFs into competition-level shape. Otherwise he kept his distance, right? Wrong.

While Zulkifli complained to his brother that the MILF were short of funds and could not always arm him, he said that he was often fighting with them and teaching courses on “sniping.”

Apart from the “arming” thing, which sounds painful and is probably unsafe for those of us without Power Glutes, is there any guy here who isn’t flashing back to his first marriage? The fighting, the sniping over breakfast, the constant complaining about needing more money for whatever crap they like to blow it on. This is why you always, and I mean always, need to keep your own space and spend plenty of time there.

Sure, the ties of blood and support between American residents and International Islamonutters is something the rest of us should be concerned about, but that’s our worry. Sometimes love within a family means refusing to be an enabler. I’m just sayin’.
