More Paris Hilton!
Allah's annoyed that he has two important Iraq posts up today and no one's commenting. (They're good. Go read.)
But meanwhile I'll link his update to the Paris Hilton story, only for
1) the tidbit that the sherriff here has been accused of doing favors for the rich and famous (in LA? get out!);
and
2) to correct a misimpression that's been going around. No, Paris Hilton didn't get a bigger sentence after pulling her "I wanna go home" crying jag. She got the same sentence she always had -- 45 days. The "23 days" previously cited is what she's expected to actually serve, with credit for good behavior; but she always was sentenced to 45 days, still is sentenced to 45 days, and may or may not wind up serving the expected 23 days depending on whether she can stop being such a whiny little manipulative bitch for five minutes.
Also, I agree with the J-Pod post cited there -- what the hell is this strange sympathy for Paris on the part of conservatives? I struck a sympathetic tone, but it was totally bullshit! I just didn't want to come off as being gleeful about this. But guess what-- I am! I'm lovin' it!
I just didn't want to be the sort of prick who said so! But that's exactly the kind of prick I am!
Really, she's a drunken, entitled, useless, self-obsessed shameless spoiled-rotten snatch-flashing little piece of attention-whoring gold-plated trailer-park cooze-lint who can well afford to spend 23 to 45 days in lonely incarceration pondering the choices she's made.
I'm pretty sure that after she gets out of jail she'll still have twenty or thirty billlion dollars to console her.
So fuck her. Nailed DUI, she was offered an easy-peasy probation which she immediately violated. She couldn't even ride out that minor penalty without flouting the law.
I imagine that prison is quite a shock for her. Are we supposed to let her go simply because she's used to a mansion? Whereas the rest of us who aren't accustomed to such luxury would be expected to do the time just because we're... poorer?
The hell with that. Maybe she got a tough sentence. I don't know. I do know tha when you choose to violate your probation, you're rolling the dice and you're taking your chances.
She crapped out. Tough shit. Hack it, and shut up about it. Frankly, the world could use a rest from you for a couple of damn weeks.
