Yes, the story does have that "D-La." following his name. But frankly I didn't know what that meant 'til I was in college. I assumed R-La. meant "Represenatative Louisiana." Only later did I figure out the R and D stood for party affiliation.
Let's just say they're not exactly eager to "connect the dots" to fellow Democrats like they were with Tom DeLay et al.
