Full Story On RNC Small-Donor Drop-Offs
To clarify/correct, the $164,000 vs. $100,000 figure was just a single solicitor's drop in securing donations, and there were 65 of them fired.
Bonus: Mary Katharine Ham's friend Emily tells an RNC solicitor to get their donations from one of their 12 million newest, bestest friends.
The takeaway: RNC solicitors are desperately attempting to disown the amnesty bill -- at least when it comes to cadging money out of suckers.
someone and Warden suggest sending them pesos as donations. It's a cute idea, I guess, though I don't see how it actually advances anything.
Speaking of not advancing anything, here's a list of the fax numbers for "our" Senators:

.. in case you want to send them a message.
There's a way to get through to each Senator's chief of staff, too, without being dumped into the largely-unread public email system.
I'm told:
If one wanted to contact a particular person, (such as a Chief of Staff) you would use the following format: john_little@Martinez.senate.gov
[i.e.,FirstName_LastName@Senator'sLastName.senate.gov]
Usually the person at the front desk will tell anyone who calls the main office phone line what the Cheif of Staff's name is. An e-mail would be sent to a different COS in the same format with the proper COS's names and the Senator's name placed in it. That message would go straight to the COS's email account/blackberry and bypass the senate "bulk e-mail" account that most unsolicited constituent e-mail goes into.
