Dana Carvey is just about the funniest guy in the world. That HBO comedy special (Critics' Choice, I think) is flat-out hilarious, featuring, at the end, Carvey's impression of Burt Lancaster sodomizing Kirk Douglas. (Also, Johnny Carson and Jimmy Stewart having sex.)
BTW: Given that Carvey is a comic from San Fransisco, he's strangely... I don't want to say conservative. Let's say oddly centrist. But that could just be his own admitted need for adoration restraining him from offending any possible adorers.
His show was supposedly hysterical, but it didn't seem to attract an audience. Apparently Steven Colbert and Steve Carrell were both on it before being swiped by the Daily Show.
