Again: Lefty Gay-Baiters Outing Closet Queers
Well, I have no idea if this guy is gay. Nor if he was in gay porn. (Incidentally, being in gay porn doesn't make you gay, exactly -- a lot of straight male porn stars do gay porn because that's where the money is if you're a guy in porn. You're not really the star of a straight porno, after all. And I have to imagine that having gay sex as a straight man is a pretty nasty experience, even if you're doing it willingly for the paycheck.)
So what did he do, exactly, to deserve being outed for this (alleged) disreputable past?
Oh, you know, the normal: He dared to be a conservative who supports the war and complained of Columbia's anti-military attitudes.
I'm not going to link James Joyner for this, because I'm kind of tired of this kind of bullshit. But Don Surber quotes him thus:
“surely, Blumenthal is right that there is a faction of the conservative movement that ‘exploits anti-gay sentiment for political gain.’ It’s not unreasonable to point that out.”
Praytell, James, what exactly is Max Blumenthal doing when he dishes dirt like this? Isn't he, too, attempting to exploit that same anti-gay sentiment for political gain?
Why is it that when Republicans knock Democrats for being gay (which they almost never do; when's the last time a Democrat was outed?), it's "pandering to anti-gay bigotry," but when liberals do the same thing -- for the exact same purpose, to play to anti-gay bigotry -- it's merely "exposing the hypocrisy of conservatives"?
Do they not simultaneously "expose the hypocrisy of liberals" in doing so?
Well, I'm tired of it. You know what? I've got a tip about who the closeted gay Democrats in DC might be, and I decided it was beneath me.
It still is beneath me, but fuck it, I think I'm going to publish it anyway.
We can both play this game and destroy reputations if the liberals like. I'd prefer not doing so, but as moral suasion means nothing to these machivellian marxists, it's time to fight fire with fire.
Hypocrisy? Whatever. I think remaining closeted as an elected Democrat, a party so, so, sooo dedicated to gay rights, is pretty hypocritical. As is remaining with a wife in a loveless marriage while you score young hot things at gay DC clubs just to preserve your political viability. I've decided -- just me; the hell with what they might think -- that they should be out and proud and representing the gay community as declared gays, and if they aren't, they're hypocrites who deserve to be outed.
By me.
Just like AmericaBlog and Max Blumenthal get to decide if closeted conservative gays can remain such, I'm arrogating that decision as regards closeted liberal gays to myself.
Why not?
Eh, I don't really need a justification. When the names come out, and lives are -- well, if not ruined, definitely worsened -- the Democrats can thank Max Blumenthal, AmericaBlog, and all the other leftist gay-baiters.
Eh, Who Am I Kidding, It Is Beneath Me: I don't want my claim to fame being the right's version of Mike Rodgers.
But you guys ought to know: You're not the only ones with "The List."
