Like A Young, Hairless Curtis LeMay, Gen. Glenn Greenwald Dares To Insult His Commander-In-Chief
Quoting an interview of Bush by Sean Hannity:
Hannity: Is this a struggle literally between good and evil?
Bush: I think it is.
Hannity: This is what it is? Do you think most people understand that? I mean, when you see the vacillating poll numbers, does it discourage you in that sense?
Bush: Well, first of all, you can't make decisions on polls, Sean. You've got to do what you think is right. The reason I say it's good versus evil is that evil people kill innocent life to achieve political objectives. And that's what Al Qaeda and people like Al Qaeda do.
General "Bomber" Greenwald comments:
Bush means all of that. That's really what he believes. And he isn't constrained by the things that constrain rational people because his mission, in his mind, transcends all of those mundane limitations. Is there anyone who still doubts that?
Far be it from me to question the Hero of Kabul, but can any lefty please edify as to what, precisely, Bush said that was so obviously wrong? So obviously, transparently, glaringly insane, in fact, that Gen. Greenwald does not even feel compelled to specify what it is he finds objectionable?
I thought the "reasonable left" agreed that Al Qaeda killed innocent human life to achieve its (rather grandiose) political goals, and that murdering innocents was, indeed, evil (and by implication, the preservation of those innocent lives would be "good").
And do please note we are talking about Al Qaeda here. Not Iraq. Al Qaeda-- you know, the "real terrorists" all of the lefties would gladly enlist up to go and kill if only Bush wouldn't thwart them by hiding the Army recruitment website.
I'm sorry, I have to ask. Now that the elections have been won--
Have you all stopped even pretending now?
I'd appreciate it if you did. If it's been annoying for you to lie for the past five and a half years, trust me, it's been more annoying for those of us on the right to pretend to believe you without laughing in your faces.
If the pretense is now to to be jettisoned, I say it's about time, and I appreciate your newfound, though late-coming, candor.
