Ned Lamont Blames Bush For Gas Prices
The first Bush got in political trouble due to a phonied-up media report that showed him as being entirely unfamiliar with the workings of a modern grocery store.
Don't expect a similar media pounding on Ned Lamont for his apparent cluelessness that gas prices have fallen.
Optimism Watch: Geraghty looks at the polls and finds things aren't as bad as the media claims.
For one thing, a Republican has a good chance of knocking off a Democrat in a Democrat-held seat. Any net pick-up like this makes it harder for the Democrats to gain a net fifteen seats, of course.
For another thing -- that old partisan affiliation in poll samples. Are there really so many more Democrats now as there were in 2004? Or are Republicans just hanging up on pollsters more often?
