Hezbollah is now our Public Enemy #1 [AnalogKid]

In an attempt to lend gravitas to my IB partner, Michael, I am going to post some actual ... you know ... content. Don't worry: it'll only hurt a minute.

I got inspired by Gateway Pundit's post last week on the Venezuelan presence of Hezbollah. I put up a spike here at Ace's, which pointed to my own blog. There I listed out a brief history of Jihadi activity in the Tri-Border region (Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina) of South America, as well as the tendency to bleed north into Colombia (which the US Government vehemently denies).

It turns out that there's a guy - Mugniyeh - whose job seems to be coordinating and facilitating the South American arm of Islamo-fascism for Hezbollah. According to Clint Taylor over at Hot Air, there are quite a few connections between Chavez and Hezbollah. I read this to mean that Chavez believes that there is political and militiary expediency to this connection, and that is telling. There are equivalent connections between elements of Islamo-fascism and Marxist/Commuinist revolutionary groups throughout South America (which I also highlighted in my post and which the US Government is quick to dismiss).

The command hierarchy has some clarity. What Mugniyeh would appear to be to Hezbollah East, Commandante Teodoro would appear to be for Hezbollah West. He is a local leader in Hezbollah in Latin America, which seeks to be the pan-Islamic revolutionary seed group in the Western Hemisphere. Through grass roots efforts that Taylor goes into in some detail, he seeks to recruit jihadi elements.

For peaceful purposes, I am sure.

As FrontPage magazine has consistently and repeatedly pointed out, there are ties between Islamo-fascism in the pan-Islamic world and the Revolutionary Left, including the Communist and Marxist flavors. Horowitz goes into detail on the philosophical roots, but if you've read Frederick Hayek's The Road to Serfdom, the argument is familiar.

Communism, Socialism, Marxism, and Fascism are politically all over the spectrum, but they share a common enemy in the secularly enlightened, classically liberal base that makes up the West. Ultimately, it is a battle betwen the central planners and the individuals. What applied to Germany in 1930 applies to the pan-Islamic world in the 1990's. Individuals threaten the ultimate peace and prosperity of the collective, whether that is pan-Islam or The Revolutionary groups operating all over South America, and so they are ascribed to be "Enemies of the State/Religion."

This is a key point. For anyone who wants to claim that Hezbollah is not centrally controlled by Iran, or that Islamo-fascist elements grow like weeds in an uncontrolled, spontaneous way, they're ignoring a central mechanism of the philosophy of fascism. Islamo-fascism is opportunistic and centrally mandated exactly like seeds in the wind are not.

As an aside, Keith "Who?" Olbermann wants any opportunity to cry foul on Bush, but guess what? The Bush Administration is understanding the deep connections, a skill that Willing Idiots will not and will never have.

All of this leads me to believe that Hezbollah is now Public Enemy Number 1 for America. What Al Quaeda accomplished in 3 hours on September 11 through daring and planning, Hezbollah has been working to achieve for nearly three decades. The organization and grass-roots fundamentalism that Al Quaeda sought to purchase via big coffers, Hezbollah has slowly grown through years of patience and opportunism. Now that their network is taking shape, how long before it is utilized to bring mayhem and destruction to the Western Hemisphere?

Iran, by extension, is also now our Number 1 enemy. As I've stated before, we have been at war with Iran by proxy for some time. I believe that it is time for our government to recognize this fact and to shift focus accordingly. No, I'm not talking about pulling out of Iraq, as that is a focal point in our efforts against Iran. I am talking about a shift in global focus to outing and rousting the elements of Hezbollah that exist with the same vigor and determination that we have pursued Al Quaeda. This will mean, ultimately, a conflict with Iran, as they are clearly the state behind Hezbollah. Let's prepare. Let's get ready. Let's attack while the enemy is still planning, still networking. The US Government needs to stop vehemnently denying any connection between America's enemies and understand that there are networks of convenience that can and will exist.

Speaking of which, what I am also talking about is an understanding that the radical left and the Islamo-fascists are philosophically, economically, and materially linked now, and that they are on our doorstep. South America, as Reagan, Kennedy, and Kruschev all clearly understood, is the biggest political and military weakness that America has. Islamo-fascism clearly believes there is a fertile field there for organization and for pursuing terrorist objectives.

And for those organizations that are part of the Radical Left in America, we don't have to question their patriotism, but maybe it's time to understand where they get their funding and their agendas. When Code Pink participates in pro-Chavez rallies, we should be alarmed. When radical groups like La Raza, with its ties to Mexico and the Leftist elements there, actively demonstrates and plots the overthrow of parts of this country, I would be examining - closely - the ties to Islamo-fascism. As Taylor's work points out, the connections may not be that hard to find. Should those connections exist, there is an enemy, of both the state and the people.

As has been pointed out a million times, a Democrat victory in November would be disastrous. But I have some meat to put on those bones: Democrats want to criminalize terrorism. Who will try Iran in a court? What is "illegal" about Hezbollah operating in Venezuela? Democrats want to focus on the "real enemy" Al Quaeda. But Al Quaeda isn't Enemy #1 anymore - Hezbollah is. Democrats want to engage Iran in diplomatic discussions. Iran has been using the cover of direct and indirect diplomatic discussions to buy time for Hezbollah to spread like a virus. More time = more spreading. It has now spread to our doorstep. Democrats want to get their funding from Central Planners like Soros and from quasi-Revolutionary Left groups like Code Pink and ALF/ELF without denouncing their philosphical roots. But those philosophical roots are shared by our most vile detractors and our most ruthless enemies.

Think about it.
