Gillerman: "This Is Lebanon's Last Chance"
A hopeful quote from Dan Gillerman, just heard on Cavuto.
This is why I hold out hope. It's not as if Israel has given too much away. It's not as if they can't re-invade.
And as far as giving up ground already won-- who cares? The whole point in hunting terrorists is to actually get what you want, a direct confrontation with them. Frankly, if Israel just had to battle over the same exact hill six thousand times, each time Hezbollah agents coming out from hiding to fight them, it would be a great victory for Israel. So what if you just keep capturing the hill? The hill isn't really you're objective; the hill isn't shooting missiles at you.
Your objective is to kill as many of these savages as possible.
And as for the paper piece of shit the UNSC passed -- well, jeepers, seems to me there are a lot of UNSC resolutions "demanding" that Israel do this or do that. It's not like they can't ignore one more preposterous resolution.
I just hope they mean it.
And I suspect they do. Olmert lost his nerve and gambled on peace with a Muslim, which is slightly more stupid than gambling with a Sicilian when death is on the line.
He's hoping for the best.
He won't get it.
But I don't see how any PM can fail to respond to further attacks, this time full-out and without so much worry about collateral damages, when his nation is under attack and 80% of the country has war-fever.
Still: for the moment, it's a loss.
But only for the moment.
