Mr. Hajj, Meet Mr. Green Helmet
What does this mean? Eh, probably not much. Obviously Hajj is on the beat. Just an interesting intersection between a couple of characters we've come to know.
Photo here.
Other Hajj photos here. He seems to specialize in smoke plumes. Alas, they all look pretty decent to me.
Thanks to Allah for the suggestion to look for more pics. He sort of throws cold water on it all -- not the crude photoshopping, but the size of the story.
I don't know. We'll see.
More... I have no idea who is responsible for the bomb-shot p-shop. It might have just been some dweeb at Yahoo, for example. Which would mean little, because -- who the hell is Yahoo? Who cares?
But it also might have been Hajj himself (very bad) or an editor at Reuters HQ (even worse).
Hajj is obviously covering the war, so it's not surprising he'd turn up at the Qana Corpse Parade.
HOWEVER... if it is determined he p-shopped that bomb photo, it sort of casts doubt on these pics as well, no?
This is one of the more dramatic Qana corpse shots I've seen.
And somehow Mr. Hajj was right in front of the media pack, two feet away from the dramatic removal of a body from the wreckage.
Maybe he just elbowed his way past the throng.
Maybe he didn't have to.
Mission Failed: Although Allah noted that the smoke pictures in Mr. Hajj's collection did not (except for the one caught by LGF) show signs of any obvious cloning, I wondered: Is it possible that the same smoke pattern might show up in different pictures?
Answer: As far as I can tell, No. Tried comparing similar smoke in different pics; found it wasn't terribly similar at all.
As my eyes are now burning out of my head by staring at smoke plumes for an hours, I think I'll take a break.
