Coulter: Bill Clinton's A Homo
I guess the book dropped a little on the bestseller list. However, it should be noted from the fuller interview that she appears to have been baited into saying something she said off the air:
I think that sort of rampant promiscuity does show some level of
latent homosexuality.
Dan will have the video soon, too.
Now, here's me expressing my outrage:
...
...
...
It's "outrageous" only in the sense that it's almost certainly not true and just very, very silly. A gay guy would not have gone for a Monica Lewinsky; that's a straight horndog at work. A gay guy would have gone for more of an Audrey Hepburn kind of look.
Goin' for the kinda dumb, kinda trashy, kinda dumpy girl with the big cans? Straight guy.
It's a goofy little remark that comes right out of MASH, with its Cassanova dentist who fear he might be gay (because he read somewhere that the Cassanova complex is a sign of latent homosexuality).
I just don't buy it. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, Ann.
So to speak.
It's not "outrageous" or worth the shrill response it's going to get. It's just wrong and silly and based on a goofy Freudianism that I'm almost sure Coulter rejects in almost every other case.
