Giuliani, Republican Nomination, Some Assembly Required
73% of Republicans would find him "acceptable." Only 55% would find McCain "acceptable."
The poll doesn't seek to find partisans' first choice, necessarily, but which candidates they could bring themselves to support, even as a second or third choice. Giuliani, surprisingly, tops the list.
McCain and Guiliani are more or less tied as first-choices, but 45% of Republicans wouldn't find McCain "acceptable." Sounds about right. I think the only Republicans who like him are Lincoln Chafee, John Dean, and of course Rightwingsparkle. (Kidding...)
