Chirac Warns Iran, North Korea On Nukes
More waking up?
"Everyone recognizes that Iran or North Korea, for example, have a right to peacefully use nuclear energy," Chirac said. "But it is imperative for the international community to ensure that the commitments reached for everyone's security are respected."
Iran and North Korea "would be committing a grave error if they do not grasp the hand that we are extending to them," Chirac told diplomats.
I wonder if he finally gets it that these are both lunatic regimes that cannot be reasoned with or appeased.
I doubt it, but here's hoping. We'll need French votes in the UNSC.
Related: EU-3 (Britain, Germany, France) consider breaking off futile talks with Iran.
Sometimes war-war is better than jaw-jaw. Jaw-jaw isn't working here. I wish it were. But it's not. And, unlike some problems we can live with (North Korea's counterfeiting and drug-running operations), we cannot allow Messiah-complex mullahs to have the f'n' atomic bomb.
They will use it.
Thanks to the A-Man.
