Who did it? Well, of course, it's all rather obvious to those in the, ahem, reality-based community: a secretive cabal of Karl Rove, the CIA, Texas oil men, the Cigarette Smoking Man from the X-Files, and the Ghost of Richard Milhouse Nixon.

But those miscreants will never be brought before the bar of justice, because they're "untouchable," either figuratively or, in the case of Tricky Dick's spectre, quite literally.

Although when he rushes past you in the corridor to the Oval Office you do have this odd compulsion to begin compiling an "Enemy's List." For reasons unfathomable, you always want to put Chubby Checkers at the top of the list. Why? I don't know. Whatever beef they have must have happened after death.

But the more practical question is-- which innocent-as-a-lamb patriotic Muslim are they going to pin this on in order to distract us from whatever the left is all hopped up about this week?

There is an an alleged human being they're looking at:

British police have asked their European counterparts for information on a Moroccan man, Mohamed Guerbouzi, in relation to the terrorist attacks in London yesterday, a Brussels-based European police official said. Mr. Guerbouzi has been under investigation in Britain in connection with two previous attacks, a 2003 suicide bombing in Morocco and last year's attack in Madrid. He has been living in Britain for about a decade, the police official said.

Mohamed? I did not see that one coming.

That just shows you the problem with racial profiling. Most of those simplissime police and intelligence officials on the case were quite sure that the chief suspect in the crime would be named "Stan" or, perhaps, "Cavendish."
