"We are men and we don't make a big deal over our scars." [Dave at Garfield Ridge]
While carrying the burden of his nation's hopes, Viktor Yushchenko must also carry the burden of painful disfigurement:
Viktor Yushchenko, the newly elected president of Ukraine, said he still has not come to terms with his disfigured face resulting from a poison he was administered during his campaigning on a pro-West ticket.
"Frankly, I can't get used to this face, and I don't think I ever will get used to it," he told a media conference in Strasbourg after addressing the parliament of the 46-member state Council of Europe.
"But," he added, "we are men and we don't make a big deal over our scars."
No sense in complaining, I guess; especially since it's now a badge of honor. No concentrated industrial poison is gonna bring this MoFo down!
Besides, it doesn't look *that* bad-- Yush now looks like Perry King crossed with Edward James Olmos. I hear some chicks dig that.
About Yushchenko's would-be assassins, I think Ace said it best: Bastards.
Cheers,
