The Deposed Regime Gathers to Pretend to Honor Dick Cheney While Actually Making Petty Attacks to Advance Their Dying Political Careers

The Obamas didn't come, because they are beyond pretending they're interested in anything that doesn't pay them seven figures for a quickie appearance.

The Clintons were too busy dodging subpoeans to make an appearance.

But George W. Bush, Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, her Punchy Cuck of a husband, Anthony Fauci and Rachel Maddow all made the scene.

Pretending to eulogize her father and speak of the legacy he leaves for posterity, Liz Cheney hijacks the funeral to turn into another McCain funeral, focused on petty attacks against transitory political figures.

Addressing mourners who had gathered in Washington, DC, Liz Cheney said her father, the former US Vice President Dick Cheney, always prioritized defending the Constitution over party loyalty

That has nothing to do with Dick Cheney. He is not known for "defending the Constitution over party loyalty." He is known -- to put it in a positive way -- for defending America no matter what the costs or which applecarts were overturned.

But "defending the Constitution over party loyalty" was empahtically not Dick Cheney's fight. McCain could claim that for fighting "torture," but Cheney was all about torture.

"Putting the Constitution over party loyalty" was Liz Cheney's fight (or, at least, that's how she would tell the tale).

So she's not eulogizing her father, she's just elevating herself. She's standing on her father's corpse to give some height to her toad-like frame.

Typical, and what we've come to expect from Regime funeral shows.

Her big praise of her father was about him backing her quixotic cause.

In recent years, Dick Cheney, who also served as secretary of Defense and represented Wyoming in Congress, publicly backed his daughter as she fought to push back on false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, eventually losing her seat in Congress after turning against President Trump.

"Though he was inspired to service by President Kennedy, Dick Cheney became a Republican," Liz Cheney said. "But he knew that bonds of party must always yield to the single bond we share as Americans."

"For him, a choice between defense of the Constitution and defense of your political party was no choice at all," she added.

So let's ignore all the things Dick Cheney actually did when he was in office to focus on what really matters, him saying "You go girl" to his daughter as a retired and weary old man, sitting on the sidelines, weakly shaking the pom-poms.

I thought at least she would try to hide that she was talking entirely about herself by talking about Cheney, I don't know, standing up to Nixon during impeachment (if he did that, I dunno). Then she could say "he stood up for the Constitution over party loyalty" and while you would suspect she was talking about herself again, you couldn't be sure. She would have plausible deniability.

But no, she doesn't bother dressing it up, she goes just goes straight for the naked self-praise: "What made my father great was him recognizing how righteous and brave I was in my prune-faced heterosexual lesbian act."

I don't know, is this how the Regime does funerals? When I've spoken at funerals I've tended to focus on the actual deceased person. I didn't say, "You know what grandma loved? My 'Johnny Coldcuts' character. That and the Money for Anal Wonkette Skankathon. She quilted me a blanket with 'pooter' written on it."
