However, the recent poll indicates that 53% of respondents now favor building a border barrier, while opposition has dwindled to 46%.

New Gallup poll finds a record-high number of Americans believe illegal immigration is a "critical threat" to the nation's vital interests. Voters are clearly blaming President Joe Biden and his band of leftists for the invasion the nation has endured over the past three years.

The latest survey of more than 1,000 adults nationwide, conducted Feb. 1-20, shows 55 percent of U.S. respondents believe that "large numbers of immigrants entering the United States illegally" is a "critical threat" to the nation -- up 8 percentage points from last year's poll. The significant majority of Americans deeply concerned about illegal immigration surpasses the previous high of 50 percent recorded in 2004, according to Gallup.

"Significantly more Americans name immigration as the most important problem facing the U.S. (28%) than did a month ago (20%)," the famed national pollster notes. "Immigration has now passed the government as the most often cited problem, after the two issues tied for the top position the past two months."

Concern over the illegal immigration crisis is at the highest level in the 40-plus years Gallup has been tracking the issue.

55% call it a "critical" issue, and 31% call it an "important" one.

Gee that sounds like a supermajority to me.

While Fake Jake Tapper cries that Republicans are, get this, exploiting the Democrats' stubborn, anti-democratic refusal to execute the public will (see video below the fold), Trump promises that he'll deport "ALL" illegal alien criminals.

Former President Donald Trump reacted Monday to the alleged murder of University of Georgia (UGA) student Laken Riley by an illegal migrant, stating that he would set up the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.

Trump took to Truth Social to condemn President Joe Biden for allowing the 22-year-old woman's murder to occur, blasting the administration for the influx of illegal immigrants coming into the country and committing crimes.

"Crooked Joe Biden's Border INVASION is destroying our country and killing our citizens!" Trump wrote. "The horrible murder of 22-year-old Laken Riley at the University of Georgia should have NEVER happened! The monster who took her life illegally entered our Country in 2022 ... and then was released AGAIN by Radical Democrats in New York after injuring a CHILD!!"

"When I am your President, we will immediately Seal the Border, Stop the Invasion, and on Day One, we will begin the largest deportation operation of illegal CRIMINALS in American History!" Trump continued. "May God Bless Laken Riley and her family!!! Our prayers are with you!"

Some people, including commenters here, pointed out that the AP article about this savage murder (and possible sexual assault) focused laser-like on the real problem: Young women running alone without a chaperone.

AP also referred the illegal alien killer as an "Athens (Georgia) resident."

Carol Capps runs regularly in the forested area of the University of Georgia campus, where the body of a 22-year-old nursing student was found earlier this week after she was reported missing from a morning run.

Capps, 24, said the trails around Lake Herrick always seemed safe, a place where she could get away from traffic and go into the woods for some mental clarity.

But that sense of peace was shattered after authorities on Thursday found the body of Laken Hope Riley and arrested Athens resident Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, on suspicion of murder. The victim and suspect did not know each other, and University of Georgia Police Chief Jeff Clark called the killing a crime of opportunity.

"The scariest thing about it is it could have been me or one of my friends," said Capps, a store associate at Athens Running Company. "It feels like a place has been taken away from me."

It's the place that killed her, not the illegal alien.

Just like it was an SUV that ran down hundreds of white celebrants at a Christmas parade, not a vicious anti-white black racist killer.

... Riley's death has once again put the spotlight on the dangers female runners face. Previously, the 2018 death of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts while out jogging prompted an outpouring from other women who shared their tales of being harassed and followed.

Not that AP would ever report this, but Mollie Tibbets was ALSO murdered by an illegal alien.

It's just these damn solo female joggers! That's the real issue here!

Crime statistics indicate that these types of attacks are rare, but they underscore the hypervigilance women must take when going out, even for a run on campus.

Running groups and women's forums have offered tips on how women can try to stay safer while exercising: Run during daylight hours or with a friend; avoid headphones; carry pepper spray or a whistle; make sure your phone is charged; mix up running routes; inform a friend of your whereabouts and check in with them when you're done.

But Callie Rennison, a professor of criminal justice at the University of Colorado who studies violence against women, wishes there was more emphasis on teaching men not to assault women rather than telling women what they should or should not do.

Capps, who has been running since age 13, said she is careful to be aware of her surroundings. But she also does not think Riley could have done anything to ward off what appears to be a random act of violence.

As his fake presidency dissolves away like the cells of his dying brain, Biden scrambled to finally go to the border.

Here's the fun thing: Instead of going to a place where Biden's invasionary force of illegals are heavily crossing, he's going to a place where illegal alien traffic is very light.

So he's going to one of the least-open parts of the border. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

Interesting that President Biden has chosen Brownsville/Rio Grande Valley sector for his visit. It has been slow there for months. Only getting around 200-400 per day across all of RGV sector recently. Yesterday was 314 encounters.

Meanwhile, San Diego & Tucson sectors BUSY in blue states w/ typically 1,000-2,000ish per day. Biden's last visit to the border was in El Paso *after* a huge surge of illegal crossings where the streets had been cleared of migrant camps and the visit was highly sanitized - Biden did not see or talk to a single migrant, nor did he visit a Border Patrol station. We'll see if this time Is different.

Now you might not believe this, but illegal aliens consistently express a preference for Joe Biden over Donald Trump. Which seems incongruous, because they keep telling me that Trump is responsible for Biden's open border, and Biden really wants to close the border but Republicans keep stopping him from doing so.
