Transgender "Star" of Batgirl Confirms Cancelled Movie Was "Woke," Attacks David Zaslav and His Mighty Ax For Cancelling Her His Awful Movie

The SJWs and weirdoes are in a panic that one media corporation is no longer playing ball with their Get Woke Go Broke agenda.

People may wonder why I keep covering this story. It's because once one major media company makes a move like this, the shareholders at other media companies are going to start asking: "Why are we giving up shareholder value on sure-loser woke projects? Why can't we also pursue the Zaslav doctrine of Profitability Is a Kind of Diversity, Too?"

Until Warner Discovery started cancelling the woke projects (and woke employees), no one did this, because It Just Wasn't Done.

Well, now it's done. Why aren't other media CEOs pursuing an agenda of increasing shareholder value?

And that's why the SJWs are freaking out so hard.

This isn't just about losing Warner Discovery.

This could be about losing all or most of them.

Did it reflect the world we actually live in, or does it reflect the world that sexually-odd obsessives with agendas wish we all lived in, and are trying to conjure into existence through nonstop #MuhRepresentations in media?

Batgirl actor Ivory Aquino has seemingly admitted that the now-shelved DC Film fit all the criteria to be considered "woke", though she he claims this was not because it was created with any ideological stance in mind, but rather because it featured "writing that reflects the world we live in."

Prior to the film's cancellation, the transgender Aquino was set to portray the similarly-identified best friend of Batgirl's title character, Alysia Yeoh.

This is what everyone was looking to see.

Created by writer Gail Simone and artist Ardian Syaf, Yeoh was introduced into DC Comics canon and eventually confirmed as transgender during the pair's run on the fourth volume of Batgirl.

Initially stepping into [Batgirl's] life as her roommate, Yeoh has since been set-up to become some iteration of Batgirl, her take on the identity emphasized by her transgender Pride flag-wrapped baseball bat.

People just can't get enough of being forcefed transgenderism through every media that exists.

Completely unrelated I'm sure: An "anonymous Batgirl actor" is "very offended" by the film's cancellation and is calling David Zaslav "an imbecile" and a "coward."

Gee I wonder who this can possibly be.

To this end, the actor asserted, "I am very offended by what happened and feel terrible for the directors and Leslie Grace, who were all wonderful to work with, as well as all of the technicians. It was an enormous, rewarding challenge to make this movie during Covid, and during the cold weather in Glasgow."

"None of these things matter to an imbecile like [Zaslav]," they concluded. "His cowardice is breathtaking. I am glad I got to participate and I wish the best for all those involved -- except the suits at Warner Brothers. But they all get replaced sooner than later."

Aquino wrote an Instagram post praising the movie not for being good, but for being... #CheckboxDiverse and for pushing a woke message.

Batgirl was truly a labor of love we were excited & eager to share with you all who've championed this inspiring character &our fam of nontraditional underrepresented peeps having the opportunity to share with the world that ANYONE & EVERYONE can be a superhero.

A female-written female-produced film starring an Afro-Latina (angel!) & directed by Muslim Moroccan-Belgian wunderkinds (with a female assistant director) about a female character (as imagined by a female comic book writer) who forges her own path to uplift the lives of those around her including her trans best friend, deserves to be seen & will find a way. There is no price tag on that.

Actually the price tag was $90 million at current tally and it was decided that was too damn high for yet another Woke Agenda Vanity project.

The leftwing media is pushing for Zaslav to get fired in a full-court press, screaming HE HATES DIVERSITY AND IS A RACISTY TRANSPHOBE as loudly as they can.

Laid-Off HBO Max Execs Reveal Warner Bros. Discovery Is Killing Off Diversity and Courting 'Middle America'

1, oh, the laid-off execs are bitter? And they're annoyed that the Diversity Card that got them the job didn't protect them from being fired? I'm so surprised.

2, a company is "courting Middle America" where 66% of the actual audience is, and dollars are? That's terrible! They should continue just courting only the most leftwing, grungy parts of urban desolations ruled by BLM street enforcers, the upscale neighborhoods of college towns, and the walled-off ultraluxe progressive Panems in LA and on Nantucket Island.

Former HBO Max executives say the streaming service has been left with few people of color to oversee its diverse slate of programming as Warner Bros. Discovery continues its ongoing corporate reshuffling.

The platform reportedly laid off close to 70 people this month. That includes the entire teams overseeing unscripted, kids and family, and international content, according to two former HBO Max execs who asked not to be named.

Those three divisions, responsible for buying shows from production companies and creators and working closely with them during production, are now completely gone.

If an entire division can be eliminated, that's a pretty strong indicator it should never have been created in the first place.

One former employee says as many as 13 people of color previously in charge of developing shows like The Gordita Chronicles and the Spanish-language docuseries Menudo: Forever Young have been let go, likely influencing the types of shows and movies that are greenlit moving forward. Among those laid off are Jen Kim, an Asian woman who served as the senior vice president of the international team, and Kaela Barnes, a Black woman who worked under Kim.

"I don't think anyone knows just how white the staff is," one former executive told The Daily Beast.

The layoffs have "amplified the lack of diversity at HBO," another former executive told The Daily Beast. "HBO is the most homogenous part of this umbrella. Instead of trying to figure out how to integrate some of the [Max] executives into HBO, they just made this sweeping cut of three divisions: kids, family, and international. A lot of Black and brown people lost their jobs."

They decided they would no longer be doing much kids and family programming, and I'm not sure why they were ever in the "international" programming business at all. If you want an "international" show, you can just, you know, but it from producers in that "international" market. You don't have to produce it from America.

This affected "black and brown" people disproportionately. That's too bad, but... is Zaslav in a keep-minorities-employed business, or a business-business?

Ever since parent company Warner Bros. merged with Discovery earlier this year, employees at Warner have grappled with the changing values of the newly created company. Discovery CEO David Zaslav was charged with helping Warner crawl out of a $50 billion hole. He came in like a wrecking ball, tearing up CNN's $300 million streaming service CNN+ and vowing to pull the Warner-owned news channel away from "advocacy" journalism.

Yeah when you're $50 billion in debt, the "Woke" shit goes by the wayside pretty quickly.

As I've said, you can only afford Woke hiring in a Trump economy. In a Biden economy, you get austerity hiring.

Former Warner employees believe these changes are just as much about business as they are about reshaping the ideological perception of Warner properties. It all points to the same end, they say: A rejection of left-wing or highly diverse content in favor of more homogenous, Middle America-friendly fare. The lack of diversity in content staff might just make that goal easier.

Oh no, he's reorienting one single media conglomerate away from woke programming.

That's not acceptable. We must keep them all Woke.

By the way, if it's true that firing "black or brown" employees makes this shift in company philosophy easier -- that is, if you're stating that "black and brown" employees would subvert the company's chosen agenda to push their own agenda -- then that's a problem they're going to have to fix in themselves, isn't it? That makes them difficult-to-manage and insubordinate employees.

And that's you saying it, Daily Beast, not me. If you're saying that "black and brown" employees are always going to push for Woke, even in companies that are turning away from woke -- well that is a reason to disfavor them as employees.

Overall, there's a sense that HBO Max's executives of color were just another casualty in the company's quest to get itself out of debt, content quality be damned.
"In terms of people seeing themselves reflected, whether it's ethnic or LGBTQ, when you have people who are diverse, the lens with which they evaluate [content] factors in things that I think my white colleagues just don't think about," one former executive said.

So you are saying that -- you're saying that minority employees will keep pouring limited company funds into nonprofitable "woke" content out of ideological/quasi-religious commitment, no matter what their superiors tell them to do.

And that's Zaslav's problem?

By the way, it is now officially the case that at DC Comics that most characters are gay, so it's actually "news" when there's a Sexuality Reveal and a character turns out to be... heterosexual.

That last headline from the garbage tier Bleeding Cool news, via Ya Boi Zach, who proclaims that in the media, "Straight is the new gay" -- the unexpected, abnormal sexuality.
