Zuko passed away Wednesday Sep 16

Zuko was featured on the Pet thread twice. He was such a lovely dog, Perfect temperament, gentle and kind. He will be missed.

So sorry that you have lost Zuko. I looked back, and saw this note from you in August of 2023: "Recently, on our afternoon walks, he has taken to resting for few minutes beside the creek below our house. I believe he's looking for that bridge that gets mentioned here from time to time. I will continue enjoying our time together until he finds it."

Not pets, but an invasive species. These are Jolo spiders, orb weavers from East Asia. They are everywhere and some sizeable.

So far they are in SC, NC, GA, and FL.

Ever been bitten by one? Ever touched one?

Here's a little video to go with the photos. You can share it with the kids. Maybe they will want a pet spider for Halloween.
