As Alex Thompson reported on Twitter/X, Harris easily leads the field with 42% among Democrat respondents, having picked up five points since last month. Gavin Newsom trails badly in second place with only 18%, dropping six points from July. Everyone else is in single digits; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Pete Buttigieg, Jon Ossoff, and Josh Shapiro are in a virtual tie for third, scoring between seven and nine percent each. Harris also has commanding leads among black and Hispanic Democrats.

Morrissey also notes the politician with the highest favorable ratings, and it's a surprise:

Harris comes in third, Trump edges her out for second, and the politician with the highest favorables is... RFKJr.

So the media's ability to drive hate at people they don't like is now, basically, gone.

Putin comes in last? Quick, Tuq'r, do another sit-down ball-washing.

I have a quick thought about RFKJr. Give this as much consideration as I gave it, which is none.

The parties have flipped as far as trust in institutions. I know that part is obvious. Leftists used to be the ones always screaming that America was a rigged game for the oligarchs and Big Corporations are crushing the common man.

But now, of course, conservatives have woken up to how absolutely foul -- and subverted by Marxists -- our institutions are. Meanwhile, thanks to Barack Obama, the CIA and FBI have been purged of most conservatives, who were replaced, of course, with Boomer Marxists.

Here's the slightly interesting part about this: This is why the media absolutely lost their minds over Trump and the Unbearable Threat of the New Right. The media had always coddled and supported leftwing revoiutionaries, of course, supporting Bill Ayers' "rehabilitation" and telling us that left-wing rioting was "the voice of the unheard." They feel that any violence committed by the left may be regrettable but is Useful in the Greater Scheme of Things.

But the possibility of the right becoming revolutionary? That's just a Threat to the Very Foundations of Our Republic. Were the right to become violent, that violence would just be a complete negative. There would be no useful "lessons" for the ruling class to learn. Riots would not be the voice of the unheard, but the voice of the deplorables.

Conservatives aren't allowed to talk about a rigged system and being oppressed! That's our grift! Conservatives are supposed to eat their slop and say thank-you!

It's the job of conservatives to shore up the pillars upholding civilization! It's our job to undermine those pillars and bring them down! If conservatives stop propping civilization up, it will crash from all of our endless subversions and treachery, and then we'll have to learn how to hunt!

Now, as to RFKJr.'s particular ambit: As a conservative, I used to roll my eyes and laugh off the hippies who would talk about Big Pharma and Big Ag and Big Processed Food putting out products that made us sicker, not healthier.

You probably did too. (And you might still roll your eyes.)

But for many on the right, our skepticism of our corporate overlords and governmental institutions is now at its highest point in American history, and that includes intense skepticism, if not outright hostility, towards Big Pharma and the bullshit "health" experts.

And the corrupt corporations whose C-suites are now dominated by woke civilization-razing leftists.

Anyway, RFKJr.'s brand of health-nannyism would have been a non-starter on the right ten years ago but now many of us are at least curious about it, or even supportive.

And even on the left, many of the Health Nuts have not abandoned their skepticism about Big Phrama and Big Ag just because the Democrat Party now tells them that's Traitor-Talk and they must worship Anthony Fauci and Wear the Fucking Face-Mask forever.

And anyway, RFKJr's form of health-nannying doesn't feel scoldy or even like nannying. He has Some Questions. I do too.

And this feels fun, not dour and woke like Michelle Obama's bullshit:
