Exclusive Hamptons Club Cancels Restaurant Service After Illegal Immigrant Staff is Deported
ICE Deports a Record Number of Illegals Over the Summer

I saw this story cited on Instapundit, with the comment: We used to hire American teenagers for these jobs.

So, try that.

An ultra-exclusive Hamptons yacht club catering to the wealthy and well-connected was forced to suspend its members-only restaurant service for multiple days after several of its kitchen staff were booted from the country over visa issues, The Post has learned.

The swanky oceanfront Devon Yacht Club in Amagansett -- which reportedly charges around $100,000 in initiation fees -- canceled its Wednesday night dinner service after it lost its foreign cooks, according to a letter sent to members the same day.

I think you can afford to increase wages to hire a legal staff.

And if you can't, you can't. A business that has to commit crimes to stay in business maybe isn't run competently enough, or attractive enough to customers, to stay in business.

Food service was also canceled Thursday and is not expected to be back up and running until Friday's lunch service, the club informed its deep-pocketed members -- a group that once included Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's parents.

Oh, so this is an easily solved "problem."

The club claims this is just a paperwork snafu involving H2B visas (temporary, seasonal visas for supposedly necessary foreign workers) and suggests maybe the problem is with the Trump Administration's DHS.

I don't know. The rest of the article talks about the "choppy waters" this club as been in for years.

Deportations continue:

NEW: I'm told by federal source that ICE has arrested roughly 300 Haitian nationals in the state of Ohio alone in recent days, as the agency is now considering transitioning into a find & arrest approach after giving Haitians several weeks to turn themselves in to ICE offices since TPS officially ended on July 27th.

I'm told to expect arrests of Haitians to begin to significantly ramp up soon as ICE starts to prioritize tracking down those who never checked in.

BREAKING/EXCLUSIVE: DHS tells @FoxNews that ICE has quietly carried out one of its most successful operations in agency history, resulting in the arrests of 1,328 illegal aliens in just a 14-day span in the states of Virginia & Maryland. Nearly 400 of the aliens had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, including a Salvadoran illegal alien wanted by police in Richmond, VA on a murder warrant. (Eygner Wilfredo Huezo-Moran's mugshot below).

Other targets included aliens with rap sheets for attempted murder and rape, as well as convictions for sexual battery, kidnapping, robbery and DWI.

The operation primarily targeted the sanctuary jurisdiction suburbs in VA & MD around Washington DC, and ICE arrested anyone in the U.S. illegally, regardless of any criminal history.

The leftwing media is pushing the newest op, which is that ICE has arrested a record number of illegals "without criminal records"... apart from violating the country's immigration rules, and, I'm sure, committing either identity theft to hold a job or welfare fraud to become dependents on a country they are not citizens of.

First: Whether or not they have "criminal records," they are still illegal and not permitted to stay. There is no law saying "illegals may live in the US as long as they like so long as Soros DAs refuse to prosecute them for crimes."

Second: Trump and Tom Homan have said over and over they would not have to go into illegal immigrant areas and arrest any illegals they find if leftwing sanctuary jurisdictions would just turn over the criminal illegal aliens they seek as their highest priority. If you just turned over the illegal criminals at the jail, this would be an easy job for ICE with no need of going into "the communities."

But we're all supposed to take from this that Undocumented Criminals have a right to remain forever, so long as only some of their crimes are documented.

By the way: this article admits, at the very end, that ICE has reduced "going into the communities" to make arrests and is now arresting people stopped at routine traffic stops and found to be illegal and less-invasive situations like that.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a record high of more than 800 people without criminal records a day in July on average, new federal data shows. The surge in arrests comes as the White House pushes the agency to hit a target of 2,000 per day.

July is the first month in President Trump's second term when people with only civil immigration violations -- rather than pending criminal charges or convictions -- made up more than half of those arrested. An average of more than 1,580 people were arrested each day in July, also a new high for the current administration.

Enforcement ramped up this summer after a drop following public backlash to the Department of Homeland Security's operation in Minneapolis, a funding standoff and a shake-up in DHS leadership. But, as has been the case with ICE's previous big city crackdowns, rising arrest totals come with spikes in community arrests of people without criminal records.

Administration officials have repeatedly claimed that their enforcement efforts are focused on "the worst of the worst" and often tout arrests of immigrants with violent criminal convictions. Those with convictions for violent crimes as defined by the Justice Department's Bureau of Justice Statistics make up about 6% of all those booked into ICE detention under the current administration, and about 4% of those taken into custody in July, the data show.

"ICE enforces the law as written. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is whether or not they are illegally in the U.S.-- full stop," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement to CBS News. "Many of the individuals that are counted as 'non-criminals' are actually terrorists, human rights abusers, gangsters and more; they just don't have a rap sheet in the U.S."

The data, obtained from ICE by the Deportation Data Project run by the University of California, Berkeley and UCLA, does not provide information about immigrants' alleged crimes in other countries. CBS News asked DHS to provide that data.

So 1, this data comes from a leftwing Open Borders group, and 2, deliberately excludes foreign criminal records or open arrest warrants.

White House border czar Tom Homan has said that sanctuary policies that prevent local law enforcement from turning over people held in jails and prisons to ICE force them to "flood the zone" and deploy more resources to such cities to find and arrest their targets and anyone else they encounter living in the U.S. illegally. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has made similar claims.

"Claims," you see. They're liars, CBS "News" wants you to know.

But June and July data suggests that ICE agents making arrests in communities are not focusing their efforts solely on areas the administration deems to be sanctuary jurisdictions. Those cities and states saw a 27% increase in street arrests during those months compared to the previous six, compared with a 50% increase everywhere else, CBS News' analysis of the data found.

Wow, what an important bit of news: ICE is able to arrest more illegals in areas where the police cooperate with them.

Here's the very, very late admission that ICE has reduced the controversial program of making mass arrests in sanctuary zones:

...

The uptick in arrests has been without highly publicized city-focused crackdowns, with agents instead turning to traffic stops, airport arrests and arrests at immigration check-ins. The killing of two immigrants by federal agents in Maine and Texas during attempted traffic stops reignited outcry.

Ron DeSantis:

Democrats continue moaning about the illegal alien "father" who... I don't even want to say this. He fingered a baby.
