American professional sports leagues have morphed into America-hating, international-focused organizations that seem hellbent on destroying the history of their sports and their deep connections to American culture.

Baseball was truly America's summer entertainment, and its culture extended far beyond the playing fields. Football and basketball —the upstart games — Similarly entered our culture, with basketball becoming the game of the cities. Hockey, always a regional sport, become popular, even in the south and west!

But the fanatical pursuit of expansion and revenue, at the expense of the quality of the game, diluted baseball's appeal. Football, and to some extent basketball stepped into the void. But they too lost focus on the quality of the game and expanded at all costs. And all three manipulated the rules of their games to improve the television experience, and to promote favored players. The result was a dilution of the original games, which are now almost unrecognizable for the few purists who remain.

And of course these leagues, with the exception of the NHL, embraced every Woke, multicultural, immigrant-driven lunacy! Gay and trans and support for illegals and BLM rioters and the deeply offensive and disrespectful kneeling during our nation's anthem, and a host of other progressive memes and causes turned professional sports into a reflection of the worst excesses of the left.

And with their increasingly detached-from-America attitudes came huge increases in pay for their athletes, and the concomitant increases in ticket prices. The athletes became precious little dilettantes, and the rules were further twisted to protect them. And a typical day at the ball park or stadium or arena became so expensive that corporations were the only ones who could afford the best tickets, which became perks for big customers. Even the cheap seats became prohibitively expense for many Americans.

So what's next? Well, just ask the worst and most destructive head of a league!

“At some point, there will be NFL teams outside the USA,” Goodell said. “I have no doubt that this will happen one day.”

The comments arrive as the league prepares for a record nine international games in the 2026 season. Those contests will stretch across London, Paris, Madrid, Munich, Mexico City, Melbourne, and Rio de Janeiro.

And the dilution of football as an quintessentially American game will also proceed apace. And that is fine. The NFL no longer represents the typical American in its play, its politics, and its rejection of America as its origin. So, NFL, gather up the spare euros and pesos and enjoy the extra cash...hopefully America will eventually wake up and reject football as a sport worth following.

Probably not, but baseball and basketball are following a similar path, and they aren't doing all that well!
