THE MORNING RANT: Alberta Independence Is a Necessary Bulwark Against Canada’s Capitulation to the Enemies of Western Civilization

Canada is gone. It cannot be saved nor restored to the polite, commonwealth country we knew in the 20th Century.

Alberta, however, and much of Canada outside of Ontario and the Vancouver-area can still be saved. They need to be saved.

The best-case scenario for Vancouver and Toronto is that they’ll end up demographically and economically like Singapore. The more likely scenario is that they’ll end up as balkanized hell-holes, like Brussels, Paris, and London have become.

The security of the United States and the perpetuation of western civilization in North America requires that the salvageable parts of Canada be set free from its cascading de-westernization.

There is reason for hope. The Alberta independence movement has gathered enough verified petition signatures to force a referendum in October. Albertans will cast a Yes/No vote for the following question. “Should Alberta remain a province of Canada, or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”

While this vote is non-binding, if it passes and Prime Minister Carney does not allow the independence process to move forward, the United States and President Trump should support the people of Alberta with pre-emptive recognition of its independence. There are plenty of incentives - and disincentives - that the U.S. can employ to force Carney’s capitulation.

The situation involving Canada really is that dire, as reported by Will Thibeau in a recent article at The Blaze: “Canada Has Become America’s Northern Security Threat.” The sub-headline to that article reads: ”Mass migration, foreign interference, Chinese surveillance technology, and weak border controls have turned a trusted ally into a growing vulnerability.”

Canada is becoming one of America’s most underestimated national security vulnerabilities: a permissive northern platform through which mass migration, organized crime, and hostile foreign influence can reach the United States.

In the early 1960s, Canada’s population was 97% European, based on ethnic origin. That declined to just 52% by the 2020s, due to a mass-immigration regime that rejected Canada’s heritage and intentionally sought to alter the cultural makeup of Canada.

Canada embraced state-sponsored multiculturalism. Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau even described the country as the world’s first “postnational state,” with “no core identity” and “no mainstream.” Canada has combined mass immigration with an increasingly vague idea of national belonging.

If Canada is “post-national” as Justin Trudeau boasts, then Alberta is entitled to be a country of its own, since Canada has ceased to be a nation.

The two greatest foreign threats to the United States, in my opinion, are:

1) The 21st century Chinese empire, which is trying to expand its influence into the western hemisphere.

2) A global Islamic caliphate, which is really just part of the ongoing 1,400-year war between the Christian West and Islam.

Both of these threats are establishing North American toeholds in Canada.

China presents the gravest strategic threat. Beijing does not need to turn Canada into an outright enemy of the United States. It needs only to use Canada as a gateway into the North American system.

Canada’s decision to allow Chinese electric vehicles into the country at reduced tariff rates shows the risk. Modern electric vehicles are not simply cars. Their cameras, microphones, sensors, software, and remote-update capabilities can collect enormous quantities of data.

That policy could put tens of thousands of Chinese surveillance platforms on American roads, gathering information near military bases, power plants, communications infrastructure, and other sensitive sites.

The United States also has a virtually unsecured border with Canada. When Canada was still a 1st-world, pro-western nation, we didn’t have to worry about it. That is no longer the case.

When the United States tightens its southern border while Canada maintains looser entry policies, the northern frontier becomes an escape valve for foreign nationals seeking unlawful entry. The danger extends beyond illegal immigration. Criminal organizations, foreign agents, and potentially terrorist-linked individuals can exploit a border designed around an older assumption of trust.

Getting back to the Islamification of Canada, even the prairie provinces are submitting to government-sponsored Islamic indoctrination. Authorities in Saskatchewan have acquiesced to a mosque’s demand to blast Islamic calls to prayer through downtown Regina, so as to “help introduce” Islamic rituals and obedience to the non-Muslims in Regina.

Canadians living in Regina’s downtown core were subjected to an outdoor Islamic call to prayer broadcast out loud from a mosque for the first time just steps from City Hall.

The Regina City Jamia Masjid used rooftop speakers at its McIntyre Street location to project the Adhan at 1 p.m., marking a trial run approved by police and set to run at least through mid-July.

Anisur Rahaman of the RCJM broadcast told CTV News it would “help introduce” the mosque to both Muslim and non-Muslim residents from its downtown location.

We cannot surrender any more North American ground to the enemies of western civilization. The salvageable parts of Canada must be saved, and it needs to start in Alberta.
