NEW: The Women's National Basketball Association was unable to determine what a woman is during a meeting on Wednesday.

A WNBA task force met to talk about transgender athletes, according to ESPN.

"Today's meeting covered a wide range of topics, including ongoing discussions on transgender athletes..." the WNBA said in a statement.

"We will continue to engage all league stakeholders in the coming weeks and months."

"We will approach these important conversations thoughtfully and in alignment with the values of our league. There are no immediate eligibility matters affecting the WNBA."

Remarkable. The Women's National Basketball Association needs months to figure out what a woman is.

Wesley Yang pointed out, correctly, that you cannot separate "good faith efforts" to say that intact men can play women's sports from "bad faith efforts" to say intact men can play women's sports because both claims are the exact same claims. There is no difference between a good-faith argument that 2+2=4 and a bad-faith argument that 2+2=4. It's the same claim. The "faith" of the claim doesn't enter into it.

These ugly low-IQ cows say that they won't define a woman, or a trans woman, because that would make them "political pawns."

Of course, WNBA coaches are eager to be political pawns for the trans extremists, wearing t-shirts demanding that "trans" men be allowed to play in girls sports.

They're scrambling to find a way to say both "all transwomen are women and welcome" and also "these motherf***rs ain't welcome here" but that's a task for genuises and these bitches ain't no geniuses.

Royce White, the Stunning and Brave Trans Woman* (*for purposes of playing in the WNBA), impresses me as the most courageous and funny woman I have ever seen.

As a progressive, I fully support Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White declaring themselves for the WNBA.

I only ask that they commit to the bit.

Medically transition. Take HRT, take blockers. Show us what your performance looks like when your body is at a deficit of both testosterone and estrogen.

Do this for 2-3 years. Then show up to open tryouts and show us all how well you perform after gaining 30% in fat mass and losing 5% muscle mass.

Go ahead Enes and Royce, chemically transition, or STFU.

The trouble is, of course, that the trannies have insisted that no such medical interventions are needed to "confirm" one's identity as a Proud Trans Kween.

Genitalia doesn't determine gender. That's a cis normative fallacy. My trans-affirming doctor told me I can think of my genitalia as 9 inches of clitoris.

Michelle Goldberg wrote a piece in Slate more than a decade ago trying to alert the world to the fact that under the new rules governing gender identity, any man who declares himself to be a woman is entitled to recognition as a woman.

Since then, a few things have happened: 1.) the governing institutions of the Western world have all worked feverishly to inscribe this standard into law and policy, 2.) an army of hundreds of thousands of young people were memed into existence claiming cross-sex identities, only a small minority of whom have medicalized in any way, 3.) the state has promised this army a right to violate sex-based boundaries on the basis of a claim to a cross-sex identity, 4.) while the public somehow remains oblivious to this fact and cynical trans activists and allies lie and say that medicalization is required when it serves their interest to do so.

Wesley Yang @wesyang What did y'all think "gender identity" meant? It means that male rapists and murderers can sue the state for entrance to women's prisons and win. It means that the European Court of Human Rights can declare that requiring genital surgery for cross-sex recognition is a human rights violation.

It means that an unfalsifiable, unprovable, non-observable subjective inner state knowable only through self-report becomes the basis for conferring a right to recognition on anyone claiming it and a duty of affirmation of that claim on anyone interacting with anyone claiming that state.

It means that under NY state law, former NBA players who declare themselves to be women can declare themselves to be women and apply for entrance to the WNBA and sue under New York State Human Rights Law, which contains no provision requiring any medicalization or demonstration of "sincerity" on the part of the plaintiff to quality as a "woman," if they are denied entry.

If these Proud Trans Women aren't real Trans Women because they haven't had any medical "confirmation" of their perceived gender -- can we now say the 87-95% of trans "women" who also haven't had such medical "confirmation" are Just Dudes as well?

Because I'll take that deal. (As a first step.)

Great point -- they're trying to craft an air-tight definition of what a "trans woman" supposedly is in order to avoid creating a very basic, common sense definition for what an actual woman is.

It's kind of amazing that they are now trying to create a specific definition of what a trans person is all in order to avoid having a specific definition of what a biological woman is.
