The Morning Rant

Crime, housing, and employment are recurrent issues in America. Any politician who addresses them and has a rational plan to ease America's crime rate, soaring housing costs, and tortured employment opportunity will have a solid foundation for success.

For 60 years, our politicians, in league with consumers of cheap labor, have imported millions of people...some legally, but many illegally. Those millions have distorted the employment market by markedly decreasing the cost of labor, mostly by being willing to work for cash at below-market rates, in substandard conditions, and without legal protections. They also consume housing, driving up the cost at the low end in particular. And as most people are beginning to realize, those millions of illegals are often the dregs of society in their home countries, and bring vast quantities of crime to our shores.

One political issue -- illegal immigration -- has had profound effects on America, yet for 60 years our political masters have dithered and obfuscated and lied and ignored and, frankly, enjoyed the financial and political fruits of this invasion. The Democrats loved it because of the ample opportunity for voter fraud to consolidate their power in the cities. The Republicans loved it because of cheap labor; those Chamber Of Commerce parties and campaign contributions have to come from somewhere! Corporations gobbled up the illegal labor and pushed Americans out of the employment picture, and on the way de-skilled many jobs to take advantage of the cheap but mediocre skills of the new workers.

According to our political elites, there is no solution, other than making these oceans of foreigners legal workers! But along came Donald Trump, who had the apparently revolutionary idea simply to enforce existing law, and throw the bums out!

One decision -- to deal with the illegal problem -- has profound salutary consequences for Americans. Deporting illegals, whether legally or just changing the tone in America so that many leave on their own, will decrease the oversupply of labor, decrease demand for housing, and eliminate a criminal class that is responsible for huge amounts of crime!

Crime, housing, and employment! The three most important issues for Americans, and President Trump has a workable plan to improve all three. So the next time some pierced and tatted 20-something complains about not being able to afford a house or get a good job or live without fear of violent crime, tell him that Donald Trump has his back!
