The Morning Report — 7/ 28 /26

Good morning kids.

With the situation in Iran still unresolved, not only our current military action against the Mullahs but the past 47 years of tyrannical despotism against a long suffering populace that yearns to return to the normalcy that goes back to the time before they came to power.

Exile is hard enough on its own, but days like today make it even harder.

America gave me safety, freedom, and the opportunity to rebuild my life. I learned the language, embraced the culture, and came to appreciate the rule of law. I built a career. I made friends. I built a life. I am proud of everything I have accomplished here.

Because of that, people often assume that after twenty-seven years, I have gotten used to being away from my homeland. But that is only half the story.

The other half is watching the life I was forced to leave behind, in a matter of minutes, slowly disappear.

It is difficult and heartbreaking to read the erudite Anni Cyrus' cri de couer not only for her and for sure many Iranian expats and of course those still suffering at the hands of the Mullahs but her words hit me on a gut level for what we ourselves perhaps are on the precipice of having to experience ourselves. As I commented there, "Given who and what the Democrat/Left are and the rise of soicialism and it’s ally Islam here in the USA, I sometimes feel as if one day I might wind up being an exile in my own homeland. God forbid."

Even a cursory scan of the headlines and pull quotes in the links only makes that fear even more palpable.

The Democratic Socialists of America mean to end the United States — and if you don't believe me, take a look at what DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer had to say about it this weekend. . . Welcome to the U.S.S.A., comrades. There might not be any prisons for criminals, but why do I get the feeling that there will be plenty of camps for resistors?

As my old-school blogging acquaintance Peter "Da Tech Guy" Ingemi put it, "Well, I'll give her 10 out of 10 for honesty." To that, I'd add: You've been warned.

It's one thing to have one or two outliers like Bernie Sanders or TItty-Caca Ocasio Cortez run or even win elections but we now have one of the two major political parties being more or less effectively controlled by people who seek to utterly destroy this nation as it was founded and anyone who dares oppose that goal, meaning You and Me.

Update: Commenter I used to have a different nic points out the utter failure to oppose this is de facto being co-conspirators (Take a look at the actions of Congressional Republicans over the past 30 years and tell me that it's only one of the parties.) Sadly all too true, sir. JJS

New York City’s democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani doxxed a wide swath of his own constituents — just days after a terrorist attack — by publishing a searchable database of properties impacted by his new “pied-à-terre” tax. The database, uploaded by the New York City Department of Finance, includes the addresses and names of property owners of homes valued at over one million dollars that the city has determined are not being used as primary residences.

Good and hard New Yorkers, you're going to get it right in the neck. He and his cadres will kick you out on the streets, take all your money and if you dare make a peep in protest, quite likely your life.

Well, the wolf is at your throats and you voted for it. Did I say wolves, I meant coyotes!

In 2009, Taylor Mitchell, a 19-year-old woman, went hiking in a Canadian park on a public trail and was attacked by coyotes. Some hikers heard her screams as she was assaulted for half an hour, but did nothing to help, when rescue finally arrived, she was conscious and bleeding badly.

The young woman was airlifted to the hospital, but did not survive.

Under pressure from environmentalists, Canada, like parts of the United States, had allowed coyotes and wolves to expand their territories, especially the coyote-wolf hybrids who had killed Taylor, and the animals had become increasingly aggressive, wiping out their natural prey, and eventually stalking and attacking humans. The attack on the young woman was one of a series.

Taylor’s mother however pleaded with the authorities to spare the coyotes who had killed her daughter. “When the decision had been made to kill the pack of coyotes, I clearly heard Taylor’s voice say, ‘Please don’t, this is their space.’ She wouldn’t have wanted their demise, especially as a result of her own,” she wrote. “She was passionate about animals, was an environmentalist.”

Forget about Mamdani and all the rest, it's fools like this who vote for them election after election that's the problem.
