The Morning Rant
After a generation of barely paying lip service to any conservative principles, the British Conservative Party got thrown out on its collective wide, flaccid ass. They were the UK equivalent of the worst of the GOPe, pandering to their supposed base while rushing headlong into EU-style globalist nonsense, caving to the left, and insulting their base by lying about the UK's uncontrolled legal and illegal immigration. The voters finally noticed, and the party lost 244 seats in the 2024 election...the worst beating in their history.
Four months after that curb-stomp, the Conservative Party elected Kemi Badenoch as their leader, it was one of the few wise decisions they have made in a very long time, even if they didn't realize what they had done.
She appeals to the base, understands that the party drifted away from classic conservative principles, and isn't a bullsh*t artist..she actually told the truth about the defeat in 2024.
And now she seems to be purging the squishes from the party, and that is a fine thing! Will she be able to reinvigorate the Conservative Party? Yes, but reclaiming its losses will be a very long slog. Nigel Farage's recent legal difficulties notwithstanding, his support will almost certainly go mainly to Restore Britain, but Badenoch is charging ahead with her reinvention of the Conservative Party into a...conservative party!
Kemi Badenoch launches 'purge of Tory wets' as Theresa May's chief of staff kicked out for 'slagging off' tough line on human rights
In what looks like the start of a purge of the Tory 'wets', Gavin Barwell has been told he will not get the Tory whip back following a leave of absence from the House of Lords.
The move comes just days after Mrs Badenoch warned that former Tory MPs would not be reselected as candidates if they refused to back her stance on issues like leaving the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and taking a more pragmatic approach to Net Zero.
She is playing for keeps, and it is clear that she understands that a party that tries to be all things to all people will fail.
Here is a columnist from one of Britain's socialist newspapers, predictably frantic that the twin shibboleths of the left: climate and "human rights," will be put on the back burner in favor of actual English people!
Kemi declares war on net zero - and what remains of her party
So as of last week, Kemi has put anyone who believes the UK should be meeting its net zero targets by 2050 on the proscribed list for prospective candidates for the Conservative party. Former Tory MPs with dangerously woke views like ... er ... thinking that it might already be too late to combat climate change are no longer welcome. And the same thing applies to any Conservative who still believes the UK should be signed up to the European court of human rights. From now on, anyone who falls into either of these camps is dead to Kemi.
More power to her! Any time the rabid, spittle-flecked left is in an uproar, it means that someone is over the target!
