The Morning Report — 7/ 10 /26

Good morning kids. With the Iranian conflict still unresolved and the alleged ceasefire all but vaporized along with a few more ships in the Strait of Hormuz and ground targets in Iran itself, the Mullahs nevertheless remain in power, and as such a threat not just to the stability and peace of the region but an existential threat to civilization itself.

. . .the Twelvers want Apocalypse Now, and if they must nuke Jerusalem or Paris, so be it. That’s their ticket to Paradise. It’s their religion, and who are you to question it? Just because fulfilling the Twelvers’ goal might involve eradicating the human race is no reason for you to get all het up about it, as we say here in Texas. . . What’s that? You say you don’t believe they would serenely blow themselves up along with the rest of the world, that they are just bluffing? Do you think that the hijackers of 9/11 weren’t serious?

Whether President Trump understands this he for sure understood the madness of ignoring and worse the Obama/Biden aiding and abetting of allowing Iran to obtain a nuclear weapons arsenal, the pornographic fiction and propaganda of the JCPOA notwithstanding, and so we along with Israel at least for the time being have put a halt if not an end to that.

With that in mind, this story from last week makes zero sense:

Reuters reported that the Trump administration has already notified Congress of its intention to approve the sale of US engines worth €613 million for KAAN, Turkey’s fifth-generation fighter aircraft, which is currently under development. The bigger question, however, is whether Washington will also pave the way for Turkey to acquire F-35 fighter jets. Ankara was removed from the F-35 programme in 2019 after purchasing the Russian S-400 air defence system, which Washington argued posed a threat to the aircraft’s sensitive technology by potentially collecting radar data on the F-35. . . Turkey has been described as “the new Iran,” and for good reason. Its reputation has aligned with that depiction...

First of all, while Turkey and Erdogan are Sunni and not Shiite, the salient point here is that they are first and foremost Muslim. Regardless of the internecine and eternal struggle between those two factions, the ultimate goal of both is for Islam to conquer the world. Erdogan and his cohorts have completely eviscerated a century of progress and westernization brought about by Kemal Ataturk in service of that goal. Erdogan is content, much like Blofeld wringing his hands at the Soviets and Americans duking it out like Siamese fighting fish so that he can ultimately come out on top as the de facto leader of the entire Islamic world and ultimately usher in the age of Islam ruling the world as his legacy. That Turkey is still in NATO is the height of insanity. Unless and until Erdogan and his party are removed from power they will be an existential threat to the security of the region perhaps as serious as Iran. And while they'll hold onto those F-35s the risk of him selling one off to the Red Chinese cannot be discounted. And yet for the President to go forward with this deal is madness. He's either clueless or being ill-advised.

I would hope folks like Hegseth and Rubio have his ear and are not the ones encouraging this. As for Rubio, on the plus side, there's this:

The aforementioned potential F-35 madness notwithstanding, Marco Rubio is a champ, and I think he may very well become President in the coming years if not in 2028 then perhaps 2032. That is if we can outlast and defeat the Leftist menace here at home.

A recent Cato poll shows that more members of Gen Z, those born between 1997 and 2012, have a positive view of Communism than those who have a negative view with around a third splitting each way. Some of this can be attributed to social media propaganda, the educational system and popular culture and helps explain the young activists flocking to the DSA.

43% of ‘students’ rate Communism favorably and only 29% rate it unfavorably making it clear that the higher educational system isn’t just broken, it’s actively recruiting the next generation into extremism, domestic terrorism and totalitarian ideologies of the most terrible kind. This tracks with other polls showing campus support for violence and suppression of free speech.

This is not good, my friends.

Less than half of Americans think capitalism is working as patriotism, support for democracy tanks . . They’re seeing red. Fewer than half of Americans think capitalism is working — and support for democracy and patriotism has tanked in the last decade thanks to the nation’s pessimistic youth, according to a sobering new poll. As the nation turned 250 years old, only 48% of Americans believe that capitalism is working well in the US, compared to 60% who said so a decade ago, according to a survey released Wednesday by the Wall Street Journal and the National Opinion Research Center. Just over half (51%) of those surveyed said American capitalism was working not too well or not at all well, the study showed. The same study found just 12% of Americans believe democracy is working extremely or very well in the US, compared to a staggering 56% who said it is working not very well or not at all well. Many of those who answered also felt that the American Dream, tying together democracy and capitalism, is further out of reach than ever before. Just over a third (35%) of respondents said that the American Dream — that if you work hard, you’ll get ahead — still holds true, down from 53% in 2012.

So, forget combatting Leftists abroad — the question is, how do we combat Leftism at home if as I fear we cannot rely on the institutions that are supposed to safeguard our liberties have been utterly corrupted, weaponized and turned against us.
