Short and simple ONT this evening. No whining or excuses as we routinely receive on Friday evenings. It's summer and there are fish to catch. Not ONTs to write.
Could smoking weed protect your aging brain? A study recently highlighted by The Washington Post suggests it might.
Led by the Salk Institute, the work focused on a cannabinoid called cannabinol, which is a byproduct of THC, the active ingredient in pot responsible for its psychoactive effects.
In experiments using human brain cell cultures and animal cells, the researchers found that cannabinol appeared to protect neurons against oxidative stress, a pernicious form of biological wear and tear that leads to cell death. Oxidative stress is considered a critical factor in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

I believe this is the World Premiere on the ONT.......
Gov. Kathy Hochul has quietly extended a pilot program providing free healthcare to sex workers – with taxpayers footing the nearly $2.5 million bill.
The state Health Department in 2023 awarded $1 million in public funds to two contractors as part of Hochul’s plan to help the “world’s oldest profession,” but new documents reviewed by The Post show the program extending through June 2028, with $1.5 million more in costs.
Under the initiative, sex workers in NYC and the Buffalo area will continue to receive primary, sexual, behavioral, and dental care.
Once again government rewards incorrect decisions upon the checkbooks of those who did the right things.

"The section of the river which was cleared is really coming back beautifully, wildlife is returning, yet we are being threatened with prosecution."
Let no good deed go unpunished indeed. Then "They" wonder why we mistrust, hate, despise, revile...............them.

On a lighter note. The failure to plan on your part does make you a Genius Award Winner.
A hurry to a larping tournament ended with a very real arrest in northern Arizona.
On June 11, troopers stopped a driver clocked at 106 mph in a 65 mph zone in Flagstaff, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The driver told troopers she was running late for a “larping tournament” in Colorado.

Tonight's ONT has been brought to you by Slumber Parties. (& Mystery Click)
Notice: According to the prestigious law firm of Dewey, Cheatem & Howe, S.C. Yours truly is to state the following: The ONT belongs to the Ace Media Empire. Any complaints? Direct them to the Ace Media Empire, not AceCorp, LLC. (Which is some kind of legalistic red-headed step child)
Furthermore yours truly also has to say something about the product being manufactured in a facility with caffeine, dogs, wheat, dairy, nuts (ground, tree & wing) & everything else known to the State of California to cause cancer and/or reproductive issues.
