Democrat Strategist Michael Trujillo: Politico Was Investigating Rapewell When He Was Running for President But The "Energy Dissapated" When He Dropped Out So Politico Killed the Story

In other words: When Rapewell was threatening to become an easily-defeated Presidential candidate, they were willing to investigate the well-known rumors of harassment even rape, but when he dropped out and was no longer a threat to The Party, they let him off scot-free to go back to being a useful Democrat tool in Congress where he could continue to rape women.

This is mostly bullshit spin about the Democrat Party building an escape-proof trap for Rapewell and just waiting to strike when the time was right. That's a lie. You never wanted to take him out until he again threatened to become an easily-defeated candidate.

But the admission about Politico is interesting.

Michael Trujillo @mikehtrujillo

One note on the Swalwell stuff - (this isn't confirmed) but a reporter with Politico was working on verifying the rumors on Swalwell when he was running for President. (he's no longer with the publication) Two days before he was scheduled to sit down with this reporter Swalwell dropped out of the race. The energy disappeared to potentially take him out, the victims if they were even willing to go on the record never did. He slithered back to his safe house seat. December 2025 was too early to take down Swalwell we had to wait til his paperwork was ALL IN running for governor March 2026, so the head of the snake could be chopped off and he had no safe house seat to slither back to this time. Hate the strategy fine, but for folks unsure if this would work, we had to make sure he couldn't get away like he did in 2020.

Yeah that was your strategy - not covering it up forever so long as he stayed in his lane and did not attempt to rise above his appointed station.

If the dirt on him was as bad as you say why would your party allow him to slither back to a House seat? They happily would have found the GOP votes to expel him.

This wasn't about doing what was right, this was about fear of the top 2 candidates in the Cali primary being GOP.

Michael Trujillo @mikehtrujillo

I don't know what you are talking about - witnesses need to come forward and make the accusation so reporters and the police in this case can do their job. I am not a victim and I'm not a witness of him committing these acts, so how do I prevent him from slithering back exactly ?

Weird how Democrat operatives were able to find and persuade those witnesses to come forward the very instant it was critical to The Party's political fortunes to do so.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post is very confused. They don't understand why no media organization, say a large one located in the DC area with hundreds of "reporters" assigned to Capitol Hill, was ever able to track down and report this open secret for all eleven of Rapewell's years in Congress.

The Washington Post is hot garbge.

How Eric Swalwell rose to the top of Democratic politics as rumors followed him Allies such as Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Ruben Gallego say they knew nothing about the misconduct allegations, with Gallego saying the congressman led a "double life."

This is the same op they pulled after Biden's dementia became too obvious to be denied: How could we have known? No Democrats told us. And of course we must trust the words of our Democrat allies, I mean "sources," implicitly.

When Cheyenne Hunt first arrived on Capitol Hill as a staffer in 2020, several other young women working there warned her privately: Stay away from Rep. Eric Swalwell.

Swalwell could be "creepy," Hunt said other women told her, especially over social media.

Six years later, Hunt is one of several women who have leveraged their large followings online to go after Swalwell, enlisting women to come forward with their stories and connecting them with reporters at CNN and other outlets. Late last week, allegations that include sexual assault of a former staffer and sending unsolicited explicit messages to young women came to light in investigations published by CNN and the San Francisco Chronicle. On Tuesday, a woman accused Swalwell of raping her in 2018.

...

The stunning fall has Hunt and others asking how someone who was dogged by persistent rumors of inappropriate behavior toward women similar to what she heard in 2020 could have risen so high and so fast in a party that says it supports women's rights.

If you really want to know, I will tell you, but get this, I don't think you want anyone to know. You know the truth -- it's as obvious as the scrapes on your knees -- but you're covering it up, as usual.

"We do need to take a look inward as a party because it was an open secret," said Hunt, the executive director of the youth group Gen Z for Change, referring to the Democratic Party. "Not necessarily that he was assaulting people but that he was a creep. That was well known."

How about looking at The Party's comms department, the propaganda media?

Swalwell's career took off like a meteor at the same time women allege he was harassing them. His political trajectory -- described here with the help of interviews with more than a dozen former staffers and political operatives, some of whom who spoke on the condition of anonymity to recount private discussions -- suggests a Democratic Party enamored with a young congressman's talent for sound bites and landing blows against President Donald Trump.

Were CNN and MSNOW also enamored? Because he lived in their green room.

No? You don't want to broach that question, huh?

Rumors that Swalwell, 45, had affairs in Washington followed him, but there is no evidence that the more serious allegations of sexual assault were circulating among Democrats while his career took off, these people said.

Sure. Sure. Women don't spread gossip about rapists. #MeToo and the various lists of "Shitty Men" prove that.

...

He took the job seriously, according to his former staffers, who said he showed a penchant for making TV appearances at whatever time a channel would have him on.

Let's talk more about that -- about him being a permanent fixture in the propaganda media.

No? Still don't want to talk about that?

More important, he made the most powerful ally a House Democrat could have: Pelosi, who was known for looking out for her fellow Californians. Swalwell was seen as focused on ingratiating himself with Pelosi, according to several former staffers, who asked him to renominate her as speaker after the 2014 midterms and gave him a slot on the steering committee that controls committee assignments and internal party decisions.

"He benefited from being one of Pelosi's pets for a long time," said a senior Democratic staffer for another office, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal party dynamics.

What about being Rachel Maddow's pet?

What about being the Washington Post's pet, which published leak after leak and unsupported #FakeNews claim after unsupported #FakeNews claim from Rapewell?

Stephen Miler continues questioning the Axios "Reporter" who says she knew all about Eric Rapewell but didn't report on it because her beat wasn't #MeToo issues and also her bosses hadn't approved a Code Red on a Democrat.

Why do you need to secure special permission to write a negative story on a Democrat, we'd all like to know. We all know, obviously. We'd just like it admitted.

Stephen L. Miller @redsteeze

Bethany please explain why you said you passed on "swirling rumors" to the hill Accio team and they never reported it on Swalwell.

That's what you told me it wasn't your beat so you passed it on and then no reporting actually happened.

So please explain to me why those stories died.

She's in a little trouble because she admitted she sent her "tips" to her bosses at Axios, who, of course, sat on them.

Now she's trying to spin why her bosses were perfectly right to kill the story.

🚨 JUST IN: The Trump DOJ has launched an INVESTIGATION into disgraced Rep. Eric Swalwell due to s*xual assault allegations

There were reportedly "WHISPERS" of his behavior for "YEARS"

Democrats are now facing questions: WHAT did they know, and WHEN did they know it?

Start with Sen. Ruben Gallego!
