The Morning Report — 2/27/26

Good morning kids. I'll start off with something that frightening though it may be is still nevertheless completely unsurprising.

A Somali driver caught barreling an “80-ton truck” the wrong way down a Missouri highway failed an English proficiency test — and wasn’t able to read road signs, authorities said.

The trucker was filmed driving in the northbound lanes on Highway 61 near Troy, about 55 miles outside of St. Louis, at 8 a.m. on Wednesday before finally crossing over and heading the right way, terrifying video shared by US Transportation Security Sean Duffy on X shows.

“We have learned that a truck driver with a Minnesota CDL who couldn’t read basic road signs spent MILES driving the wrong way in an 80 TON truck!” Duffy wrote on Wednesday.

Duffy confirmed that the “dangerous trucker is now out of service. . .

Authorities said the driver had a valid commercial driver’s license and exhibited no signs of impairment or medical issues.

However, during the traffic stop, police said that the “driver was unable to complete the English proficiency test,” Sgt. Dallas Thompson told the outlet.

“In Missouri, they have to be able to understand English, take the test in English, and pass the road sign test here,” Thompson said, adding that state and federal regulations mandate English proficiency for commercial drivers.

If this story neither shocks nor surprises you, seek help because you have either been in a coma for several years or you're a Democrat. That said, I suppose if I wanted to put a positive spin on this story, given the fact that at a minimum, that we know of, $9 billion dollars has been stolen/swindled goniffed from the Minnesota state treasury and US federal treasury by the Somalian immigrant (legal and otherwise) populace of that state and who knows how many untold billions more from other foreigner/immigrant communitiess and native-born amoral Americans from coast to coast whose concept of the American dream is grifting other people's money — and now the positive spin: at least this illiterate Somali maniac somehow felt compelled to want to actually hold down a job and EARN an honest paycheck!

Meh, then again I'm sure some of you are thinking, as I now am, that the poor sap was likely duped, swindled and/or otherwise coerced into obtaining that CDL lest he be ratted out to ICE and be deported. If that was the case then he really was a chump considering God knows how many thousands of his fellow countrymen and other foreigners are raking it in hand over fist via the aforementioned welfare swindling. But being preyed upon by some of your own is part and parcel of dog-eat-dog third world societies and is nothing new, sadly, to the immigrant experience in America.

BE that as it may, there are other things going on in the world worthy of note. As we await a potential AMerican strike against the Iranian Mullahs, just a scant couple of hundred miles to the east this happened!

Pakistan bombed Taliban government forces in Afghanistan’s major cities overnight, the first time it has directly targeted its former allies, and described the situation as “open war,” raising tensions in a volatile, nuclear-armed region.

The Pakistani strikes hit the capital Kabul and the city of Kandahar, where Taliban leaders are based. It was the first time Islamabad has attacked the Taliban rather than militants allegedly backed by them, a stark rupture in ties between the Islamic neighbors.

Security sources in Pakistan said the strikes involved air-to-ground missile attacks on Taliban military offices and posts in Kabul, Kandahar as well as Paktia province. . .

There were ground clashes in multiple sectors along the border between the Islamic nations.

The Taliban said it launched what it described as retaliatory attacks on Pakistani military installations.

Both sides reported heavy losses, issuing sharply differing figures that Reuters could not independently verify.

“Our cup of patience has overflowed. Now it is open war between us and you (Afghanistan),” Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Friday.

The strikes threaten to unleash a protracted conflict along the 1,615-mile frontier with relations between Kabul and Islamabad shattered by a long-running dispute over Pakistan’s accusation that Afghanistan harbors militants carrying out attacks across the border.

The Taliban have denied the charge and said Pakistan’s security is an internal problem. 

To this, all I can say is pass the popcorn.

Then again, maybe I shouldn't be so smug, considering right here at home...

A brouhaha ensued at Tuesday’s Wylie Independent School District school board meeting in Texas, when dozens of attendees demanded answers about how an outside group called “WHY ISLAM” which that had nothing to do with the school was able not only to enter the school, but to “set up a table on campus during school hours earlier this month without district approval.” According to CBS News, “in a viral video, the president of the school’s Republican Club describes what he saw:

They were giving out hijabs to girls throughout the high school, and they were giving our Qurans, and they also had pamphlets about Sharia law.

If I have an alternate universe Muslim doppelgänger, he just wrote Pass the Shawarma!
