The Morning Rant: Violence Is Being Normalized

The existential conceit of the modern West is that our concept of civilization has been the steady state throughout history. Sure, we know that there have been paroxysms of violence on a regular basis, but those are deviations from the baseline. Peace is the ultimate goal of everyone!

And that can't be further from reality. The history of Man is violence. Every day... every week... every year... every century! The rule of law has limited that violence, but only marginally, and only where that law is respected, or feared.

Our current situation in a mostly law-abiding country is becoming increasingly murky. The calls to violence from the hard left is axiomatic, but it has expanded into the soft left, the useful idiots who shriek nonsense at protests, blockade streets, and now assault law enforcement. That they are unfamiliar with the realities of attacking men with guns doesn't prevent them from obeying the directives of their puppet masters, and it is only the restraint of law enforcement and the indecision of our political leaders that has minimized bloodshed.

But that has emboldened the left, and the calls for violence are becoming more clear, have expanded even into the politicians of the left, and may very well precipitate a political crisis, which is of course the goal; they want an overreaction to the violent protests that they are planning in blue cities so that the American public sours on ICE's efforts to deport criminals.

And this is in spite of widespread support for the federal government's efforts to rein in illegal entry into America, and start to deport those who are already here illegally.

But that means nothing to the left, which has spent the last 100 years assiduously breaking down the rule of law, respect for our institutions, and the very concept of a moral people. They have also enlisted the latest crop of ignorant, arrogant, entitled suburban women into their battle with traditional culture. These are people who have never encountered violence, but feel morally superior and in high dudgeon in every way when confronted by rational limits on protest. Add to that the expectation that their womanhood will be a powerful shield against a response to their own violence, and we have the unfortunate but unsurprising outcome that we saw in Minneapolis two weeks ago.

Until the American people unequivocally demand a robust response to these violent protests, they will continue. Until we see the American people take a much more active role in the fight against leftist violence, it will continue.

Perhaps Minnesota is entirely populated by beta males, which might explain the cowardly and weak response to roving bands of leftist agitators stopping random people to demand their bona fides against the entirely legal efforts of the federal government to root out violent illegals in our midst!

How would that play out in Florida or Texas or Montana? Perhaps it is time to find out.
