Trump says he's succeeded in China, too, striking a deal on trade and fentanyl.

President Trump declared "we have a deal" Thursday after meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea, describing their nearly two-hour summit as "a 12 out of 10." Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump told reporters the two leaders reached a sweeping agreement to stabilize trade relations and address the deadly fentanyl crisis. "We have a deal. Now, every year we will renegotiate the deal," Trump said. "But I think the deal will go on for a long time."

According to Trump, Xi agreed to suspend for one year China's export restrictions on products made with rare-earth and critical minerals -- materials essential to the production of semiconductors, batteries, and high-tech magnets. "There's no roadblock at all on rare earth," he said. "It's a one-year deal that I think will be very routinely extended." In exchange, Trump said the U.S. would lower the average tariff rate on Chinese imports from 57.6% to 47.6%. Trump emphasized that Xi also committed to intensifying China's crackdown on fentanyl exports, which have been a major driver of overdose deaths in the United States. "We agreed he's going to work very hard to stop the flow," Trump said. "I think you're going to see a big difference."

Beijing also pledged to resume "tremendous" purchases of American soybeans, reversing its earlier retaliatory halt. In a Truth Social post later Thursday, Trump said China had additionally agreed to begin purchasing U.S. oil and gas, noting that "a very large-scale transaction may take place concerning the purchase of oil and gas from the Great State of Alaska." The president confirmed that Taiwan was not discussed during the meeting but said both sides talked about working together to bring an end to the war in Ukraine. "We didn't really discuss the Russian oil," he added. "We discussed working together to see if we can get that war finished."

A Wisconsin judge reportedly sentenced Rosie O'Donnell's daughter to jail time Oct. 22 after she failed to meet the terms of her probation.

Court records showed that Chelsea O'Donnell was accused of being in violation of probation, according to Us Weekly. A drug treatment program official said it was the result of sexual assault allegations but no further information was disclosed in the documents. The official said Chelsea had not demonstrated significant improvement in the treatment drug program.

Sentencing details pertaining to the length of time she will remain behind bars were not publicly disclosed.

The Marinette County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) officer told the outlet Chelsea has been in custody since Sept. 9 and has received a prison sentence.

I like Bill and consider him a friend. But I just have no idea why -- even given all his other changed positions etc. -- he would say he'd vote for Mamdani. I can't think of a single angle where it makes sense as a strategic or tactical or messaging thing and I don’t see a reason on the merits given the things I’m pretty sure he still believes. It's just strange. Particularly given that he doesn’t have to have an opinion since he doesn't live there.

Walmart captures nearly a quarter of the money spent through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on consumer packaged goods and general merchandise, according to a June report from Numerator. Other companies which capture a high percentage of SNAP dollars: Kroger (8%), Costco (6%), Amazon (5%).

That's money from your paycheck, into the hands of the supposedly needy, into the hands of Walmart.

A sizable percentage of Walmart's own employees are on food stamps, according to a 2020 study from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) conducted at the behest of independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

"Walmart was one of the top four employers of SNAP and Medicaid beneficiaries in every state. McDonald's was in the top five of employers with employees receiving federal benefits in at least nine states," The Washington Post summarized.

Sanders accused companies like Walmart and McDonald's of depending on "corporate welfare from the federal government by paying their workers starvation wages," according to the Post.

Sanders would likely balk at weakening our "corporate welfare" system by simply decreasing the number of welfare beneficiaries. About 42 million Americans receive SNAP benefits. Those benefits are set to freeze come November, due to the government shutdown.

Um, most of those receiving the benefits in America are not actually Americans.

Another anonymous former White House colleague told Politico that Jean-Pierre "doesn't seem to have any idea what she's arguing" in her book. Some of the anonymous Democrats told Politico that they were unsure why Jean-Pierre was focusing on the Democratic Party's struggles in 2024.

And speaking of incompetent DEI hires who struggle to get through an interview without heavy editing, Kamala Harris.

Australian Broadcasting Corporation reporter Sarah Ferguson called out former Vice President Kamala Harris for dodging questions about former President Joe Biden's declining health during an interview.

Harris has been on a media tour promoting her book, "107 Days," where she has faced questions about Biden's health and her defeat in the 2024 presidential election. Ferguson asked Harris if Biden's denials about his "frailties" hampered her campaign.

"I ran against Donald Trump for president and Donald Trump ran on a platform that was in large part, I believe, misrepresenting his intentions to the American people," Harris responded. "I do believe that there are a fair number of people that voted for Donald Trump who believed him when he told them that his first priority on day one is going to be to bring down prices, and he didn't. And you combine that misrepresentation of intention with also what was at play in terms of massive amounts of misinformation and a truncated calendar in terms of the clock."

"I want to interrupt you because that is a world-class pivot, but it is not the question that I asked you, which is about Joe Biden's failure to recognize his own frailties and what that did to you," Ferguson said. "The question is about Joe Biden. Are you still reluctant to criticize the former president?"

After some back-and-forth, during which Harris claimed Biden "was not frail as president," Ferguson pointed to Biden's poor performance in a June 27, 2024, CNN debate with Trump, during which Biden froze at least twice, lost his train of thought, appeared stiff and made multiple verbal gaffes.

"But he had frailties. We all saw the debate," Ferguson said, with Harris claiming, "I do believe that Joe Biden had the capacity to be president of the United States, and I've never doubted that he had the capacity to be president of the United States. If you want to talk about whether he had the ability to endure what a race for president of the United States would require in that political environment in 2024, as I've said in the book, I had concerns."

"I talked about that in the book. And I also mentioned the context in which that debate occurred. And you'll probably remember how I talked about that in terms of what his travel schedule had been, that -- what he had been enduring in terms of the timing of that debate," Harris said after Ferguson pressed her about Biden's decline. "I talk about it extensively in the book. I'm not shying away from that. That's why I wrote it in the book, because I do know it's a question people had."

The Wall Street Journal published several articles about Biden's declining mental acuity prior to his July 21, 2024, announcement that he would not seek reelection. Despite multiple sources confirming the reports, these articles faced pushback from other media outlets and Democrats.
