Wednesday Overnight Open Thread - October 29, 2025 [Spooky Rex]
Good evening Horde. The time has come for mid-week shenanigans of the overnight variety.
Welcome to the Wednesday night ONT which means another random assortment of interweb tricks and treats (some of the mystery variety). Pull up a chair and sit a spell. Be nice to your fellow commenters and AoS contributors.

"So I told the South Korean President, "Sorry, I'd love to stick around for the big fancy dinner, but the Wednesday ONT is coming. Gotta go!" He's a star. He knows that's not fake news."

Calvin does Halloween as a dinosaur:
Embiggened in case you need a closer look at the last panel:
At $50,080, that's the highest industry average ever, reflecting the price hikes faced by new car buyers in recent years amid pandemic supply shortages, tariff-induced increases, and the high cost of EV production. The figure marks a 3.6% jump from the same month last year.
"Tariffs have introduced new cost pressure to the business, but the pricing story in September was mostly driven by the healthy mix of EVs and higher-end vehicles pushing the new-vehicle ATP into uncharted territory," Cox executive analyst Erin Keating said. Passing the $50,000 mark was inevitable, Keating said, especially considering that the country's bestseller is a Ford truck that "routinely costs north of $65,000."
Yikes and double yikes.

Tomorrow, remember to pause for a moment to remember Peanut the Squirrel who was murdered on October 30, 2024. A racoon named Fred met a similar fate.

The project for large scale dinos for Casa Rex has been...paused pending further marital diplomacy. In the meantime, there are Halloween dino decorations out there. Maybe that's an option?
This set includes one 9 foot TRex skeleton, two TRex babies in eggs, one 4 foot raptor skeleton, and two triceratops babies. I know what you're thinking. Where is the adult triceratops? No idea but this (used) collection is being offered on the interweb for the low, low price of $1,000. Pick up in New Jersey. [Update: checked before posting and the listing is gone. Boo.]

Was waiting to see if this was real or parody but apparently it is real.
The German company that built the lift used in the Louvre robbery used a photo of the heist to advertise itself in both German and English:
