Israel, US Offer Hamas "Historic" Peace Deal But Hamas, Of Course, Refuses

The peace deal demands Hamas release the hostages it's held for two full years (as of the weekend) and disarm.

Of course Hamas is refusing. They intend to make war and kill and rape Jews forever.

On Monday, President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a peace plan to end their conflict with Gaza. Hamas must now agree to the terms.

"This can be done the easy way or the hard way, but it must be done," Netanyahu said in a statement to the press at the White House.

The plan received praise from Republican members of Congress, but also from unexpected sources like the Palestinian government, which serves as the bureaucratic arm of Gaza governance. Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wisc., told Just The News, "Think about when President Trump went to the Arabic countries very early on in his second term. He was treated with great respect, and he treated them with great respect. It's the same with Israel and the Jewish people."

...

Importantly, the Palestinian Authority committed to implementing the reforms, including holding new elections and ending its system that pays the families of Palestinians involved in attacks on Israel, per the Associated Press.

...

The proposed 20-point peace agreement aims to transform Gaza into a "deradicalized," terror-free zone that would, in theory, no longer pose a threat to its neighbors, with the immediate ending of hostilities upon acceptance by both Israel and Hamas. Israeli forces would withdraw to a designated line, suspending all military operations, while Hamas would return all hostages within 72 hours of Israel's public agreement. In return, Israel would release 250 life-sentence prisoners, 1,700 Gazans detained after October 7, 2023, and the remains of deceased Gazans proportional to Israeli hostage remains.

Hamas members committing to peace and disarmament would receive amnesty or safe passage to leave Gaza, ensuring no further role in its governance. Additionally, full humanitarian aid, consistent with the January 19, 2025, agreement, would flow into Gaza without interference, managed by neutral international organizations, with the Rafah crossing operating under the same mechanism.

The "hard way" mentioned by Netanyahu might just be a
final siege of Gaza City and the complete eradication of the terrrorists there.

The city is now surrounded so that no one can get in or out.

The IDF confirms it has "operational control" over the western portion of the Netzarim Corridor in central Gaza, preventing Palestinians from returning to Gaza City.

In the past day, the 99th Division began a ground operation aimed at "strengthening and maintaining operational control over the Netzarim Corridor," the military says.

"The troops operated to disrupt the operational capabilities of the Hamas terror organization in the area and to expand operational control in the sector," the army adds.

Southbound movement from Gaza City is still permitted, though Defense Minister Israel Katz said Palestinians would need to go through army checkpoints. He said earlier today that civilians now have their "last opportunity" to leave.

Trump declared he'd defend Qatar from attacks -- from Israel, of course, should they bomb the Hamas leadership that is still granted haven there. (I know Israel bombed some of their penthouse bunkers but reports say that almost all of the leadership survived.)

I'm sure Trump is doing this for tactical diplomatic reasons. He's probably getting Qatar to pressure Hamas.

But he's done what he never before did for Israel: He made a guarantee of American military aid should Qatar be attacked. By Israel.

Trump gives Qatar unprecedented security guarantee after Israeli attack

President Trump signed on Monday an executive order to provide Qatar a U.S. security guarantee with conditions similar to NATO's Article 5, according to the text of the order published by the White House.

Why it matters: This is an unprecedented security agreement between the U.S. and an Arab country. It says the U.S. will treat any "armed attack" on the country "as a threat to the peace and security of the United States" and respond accordingly.

The upgraded U.S. security guarantee is part of the "compensation" to Qatar for the failed Israeli strike against Hamas officials in Doha three weeks ago.
Because it was issued via executive order, the security guarantee is less binding than a Senate-approved mutual defense treaty.

The intrigue: The order was signed on Monday, the same day Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House, but was only made public to days later.

What it says: "[I]n light of the continuing threats to the State of Qatar posed by foreign aggression, it is the policy of the United States to guarantee the security and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar against external attack".

An Article 5-like guarantee to come to the direct aid of a foreign country!

Still, this presents a problem for the pro-Hamas "American Firsters" of the American pseudoright like Tucker Carlson, who just wants to ask endless questions about America's alliance with Israel. These supposed champions of strict non-internetionism shrieked about America's one night of bombing on Iran's nuke facilities, but are oddly quiet about America promising to defend a foreign country against Israel.

But I thought the "Just Askin' Questions" Troika of Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and now Megyn Kelly all opposed the US extending any military aid to Israel, not because they're anti-Jewish, but just on strict principle.

Has nothing to do with Israel, they declare, it's just that we oppose all American intervention on behalf of any country.

But now that Trump has made a NATO Article 5 level guarantee to defend Qatar against Israel, the totally-not-antisemitic principled objectors to any foreign entanglements are stone silent.

Defend Israel -- NEVER!

Defend Qatar against Israel -- sounds good! Sign us up!

It's almost as if -- see if you can follow my logic on this -- that they're not "anti-war" or "anti-foreign-intervention," but simply on the other side.
