Would you like a treat?

Let's relax a little with the animals and leave the world of politics and current events outside today.

Every cat and dog has its own personality. They are not all the same.

At this link, you can find the full accreditation for what follows below (original appearance in 2013).

THE CAT'S DIARY
(Day 983 of My Captivity)

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a “good little hunter” I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of “allergies.” I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now …

Meet The PetMorons

Good afternoon K.T. -

Thank you again for your work putting the pet thread together. You'll see
me post occassionally under Our Country is Screwed.

You've posted my two girls before. Dini (6) is a gray tabby, and Smudge
(3) is a Maine Coon. You'll see Dini "making biscuits" enjoying the fuzzy
blanket on the back of a couch. Smudge is setting in front of the
fireplace trying to look regal. These two are so much fun around the house
- even when they start tearing the place up when they have the zoomies.

They don't look like the "Zoomie" type. How long did it take you to get them to pose like that? Fine cats.

wite catt.jpg

This is Teresa in Fort Worth. Hope you can add this to the Pet Thread!

Mr. TiFW caught us catnapping this morning....

Apparently the cat was offended that he would disturb the cushy deal she had going on. I am told that the cat was purring up a storm.

The cat still doesn't have a name (we inherited her sans name from our late daughter 7 years ago); we just never found anything that "worked" for her. We just call her The White Cat.

When she first came to live with us, she was very anti-people - she was half-feral when daughter found her - but we let her know in no uncertain terms that we didn't truck with that, so now she is quite happy to snuggle up with "her" people!

The White Cat is very lucky to have you and your family. She doesn't look "anti-people" now.

This is "Rocket." We rescued her and her three brothers about 10 years ago as orphaned kittens. They're all still with us and doing great.

What lucky cats! She is a beauty! Her cuddle spot reminds me of a cat I know.

hans good boy.jpg

This is our friend's dog Hans. He was a Stabyhoun, a Dutch breed that is kind of a multipurpose dog. He went to the Rainbow Bridge on the 27th at the age of 16. He was well loved and will be sorely missed. Small as he was, our Greyhounds simply accepted the fact that he was an honorary member and went on with life.

NR Pax

The caption on the photo, "Hans being a good boy" is perfect. He looks like he would fit in with other dogs, including your greyhounds.

If you start feeling nostalgic, here a link to the posts for the previous 2 Pet Threads. Thanks to Misanthropic Humanitarian for posting The Ace of Spades Pet Thread for March 22. He was very busy on that Saturday!

And here is a link for the previous week, the Ace of Spades Pet Thread, March 15.

I closed the comments on these posts so you wouldn't get banned for commenting on a week-old post, but don't try it anyway.
