Poll: Only 22% Approve of Congressional Democrats' Job Performance, Putting Them at a Net -46% Approval

Republicans are at -12, with 40% approving, 52% disapproving. I'm part of the disapproving group. They're useless and pro-Democrat.

The only reason they're voting for Trump's nominees is fear of Trump and Musk coming after them:

GOP senators are terrified over the prospect of facing primary challengers funded by Elon Musk if they stick their necks out by opposing President Trump's agenda.

The White House has signaled that Republicans who thwart Trump's agenda by voting against his controversial nominees or opposing efforts by Musk to freeze government funding and slash federal agencies, such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, will pay a political price.

And that's a threat that carries a lot more weight when Musk, the world's richest person, could easily pour tens of millions of dollars into a Senate Republican primary.

Musk warned Republican lawmakers in December that he was compiling a "naughty list" of members who buck Trump's agenda. He also pledged shortly after Election Day that his political action committee would "play a significant role in primaries" next year.

At the time, the threat was seen as mostly aimed at rebellious House conservatives who loomed as an obstacle to reelecting Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and threatened to derail Trump's tax agenda by insisting on major spending cuts.

But Republican senators have taken Musk's warning to heart.

The same thing is going on with Democrats. Not only do Republicans hate Democrat congressgrifters, but Democrats hate them for their ineffectualness and frequent descents into self-parody.

22% approve of Charles Schumer and the Democrat Gang of Idiots and Grifters, while an enormous super-majority of 68% disapprove.

Let's have the midterms next week!

Frank Luntz had more bad news for the left and the media (BIRM): In his focus group of literal swing voters -- voters who flipped from Democrat to Trump -- they "love" what Trump and Musk are doing.

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar noted on "CNN News Central" that Luntz runs numerous focus groups and that he has been talking to "a number of voters who were Hillary Clinton 2016, Joe Biden 2020 and then went for Trump in 2024." When Keilar asked how these voters perceive Trump's second term so far, Luntz responded, "pretty well," emphasizing their appreciation for decisive action in Washington.

"They're reacting to it because they love the pace of change. They were very fed up over the last four years. They wanted action. They wanted results. They looked at prices. They looked at affordability. They looked at immigration. And they didn't see anything happening," Luntz said. "They still don't like what he says, but they like what he does. And these are Democrats now who felt that they were not securing the border. They were doing nothing to prevent illegal immigration, that nothing was actually happening."

Trump immediately took action after being sworn in to his second term on Jan. 20, signing over 200 executive actions within 12 hours, addressing issues ranging from the border crisis to the economy.

"They wanted to see a reduction in wasteful Washington spending. And they're seeing that. So what they tell me is, 'I wish he would be a little bit less rude,' but at the same time, they like what he's doing," Luntz continued. "They believe he's serious about it. And for the first time, they have confidence in the future, which is why you now see some significant shifts in the polling about the expectations for the direction in the coming years."

I assume the number you see below -- +84 for Trump -- is the aggregate of the public shifting to support Trump on 20 different positions. It's the cumulative total shift, not the shift in one area.

Scott Rasumussen talked about this big shift across 20 issues:

Scott Rasmussen @ScottWRasmussen

Stunning numbers from @YouGovAmerica. It's no surprise that voters trust @RealDonaldTrump on immigration, the economy, inflation, an trade. But the YouGov survey shows most voters trust him at least a little on 18 of 20 issues including the environment, race relations, and abortion.

The only exceptions are transgender issues where voters are evenly divided and LGBTQ issues where 51% do not trust him at all (but 49% do).

I would guess the most shocking numbers to Dems would be that 58% trust him on the Supreme Court, 56% on guns, 55% on Democracy.

This suggests that @realDonaldTrump
has picked his enemies well in the early days. He has put D's in the position of having to defend illegal immigrants and the federal bureaucracy. More than 80% of voters consistenly say illegal immigration is bad for America. 60% believe the federal government is a special interest group that primarily looks out for its own interests.
