Wednesday Overnight Open Thread - February 19, 2025 [TRex]
Good evening Horde. The time has come for mid-week shenanigans of the overnight variety.
This is the Wednesday night ONT.

Early morning ahead, so going to be a brief ONT appearance for TRex this evening. Behave yourselves. Or at least misbehave in amusing ways that puts you in the running for comments of the week.

This is not the prestigious, internationally acclaimed, stately, and illustrious Sunday Morning Book Thread, but thought ONT readers would like to know the classic book "Go dog, go!" has been updated:
No points for originality, but points for maintaining tradition in naming contests.
My other favorite was "Crtl Salt Delete" but photo of that one did not meet ONT content standards.
Others?
How about Plowabunga, Fast and Flurrious, Scoop Dogg, Blizzard Wizzard, Blizzard of Oz, Austin Plowers, Sled Zeppelin, and Edgar Allan Snow?

Late Valentine's Day submission:
True love is also buying plenty of ammo...

The universe sometimes has funny linkages. Yesterday was the anniversary of the death of Dale Earnhardt. If you are wise in the ways of NASCAR, you know. If not, take it on faith that Mr. Earnhardt was a bigger than life, old school, hard core racer that died in 2001 in a last lap crash in the Daytona 500, NASCAR's biggest event of the year.
February 18 is also the date that Enzo Ferrari was born. I will presume that everyone knows Mr. Ferrari as the founder of the Ferrari car company and racing team.
Two of the most well known people in the auto racing world somehow share a link to the same day - one in birth and one in death. TRex has a small dinosaur mind but seems like there is some kind of karmic symmetry at work.
On the anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's death, his son received one of his father's race cars from an owner that passed away and left it to Dale Jr in his will.
The soundtrack can only be from the 1980s when the synthesizer ruled the music world:
And then things got out of hand:

History nugget: The photo below is a model of the original design for Mt. Rushmore.
More info available by clicking on the photo, including a short video showing how the model dimensions were translated to the rock for carving.

This will come back on the Hobby Thread at some point if we ever do a boating or fishing theme:
Phoenetics are different in Australia, so the joke does not quite translate down under.

Family relations can be complicated:

Did not originally intend for this to be a recurring theme, but here we are. She seems nice and embraces how God made her, but is this something that warrants a world record?

The Battle of Iwo Jima started on this date in 1945. An irresistible force met an immovable object. Ultimately, the irresistible force prevailed but it was grueling. We remember those who paid the cost.

Triumph for a big ONT finish:
