On The First Day After Christmas My True Love Gave To Me: An ONT!Hello everyone! Hope y'all had a happy Christmas.
See No Evil
Now, accusing your neighbor of being a moral degenerate is generally frowned upon. For good reason. In the real world, we still need to live together peacefully. And anyway, my liberal acquaintances and friends are delightful people. I don't get it myself, but I'm not sure what it is with liberals. Take the trans issue for example. I'm told that these people need to be given drugs or surgery because the stress of “living in the wrong body” is such that many of them will attempt suicide. Wow. That sounds serious. So I look up the stats, and lo and behold it seems that 40% of those who mutilate their bodies in the name of “affirming” their gender later attempt suicide. Whoa. Looks like the mutilation isn't solving the problem. Maybe there's something else going on. How hard is that? But for these hardliner libs, and I'm not talking about activists, just normal libs, treat any questioning of the narrative as heresy. Why? Group think? Tribal identification? I'm really not sure.
“They can beat their chest to be sanctuary cities all they want,” he continued. “They’re part of the United States, whether they like it or not. This is a federal issue. Even the governor of Texas, he’s the one trying to enforce federal law against the Biden administration that won’t. But these states, much like the Confederacy, they want to go on their own, they want to do their own thing. To me, you’ve got a powerful weapon among others, which is, OK, no federal funds. Boom. Last thoughts.” I sincerely hope that this isn't all bukkake theater. I know what I said.
How Democrats Lost Their Base and Their Message In each campaign, win or lose, Mr. Trump made major inroads among longtime Democratic voters. First, it was the Northern white working class. Then, it was Hispanic and Asian voters in 2020. Finally, it was young voters and, to a lesser extent, Black voters. In each case, Mr. Trump’s gains went far beyond what Democrats had ever imagined. Even at the times Mr. Trump made relatively few gains — say, among Hispanic voters in 2016 or Black voters in 2020 — Democrats nonetheless underperformed. In 2016, despite a campaign dominated by Mr. Trump’s inflammatory comments about immigrants and Mexicans, Hillary Clinton failed to improve over Barack Obama’s performance among Hispanic voters. Democrats then lost ground among them in 2018. Similarly, Democratic support among Black voters fell in 2020, and the Black share of the electorate declined as well, despite the outpouring of activism in the wake of the death of George Floyd. Black turnout then slipped yet again in 2022. The overarching pattern is clear. In election after election, Democrats underperformed among traditional Democratic constituencies during the Trump era. Sometimes, it was merely a failure to capitalize on his unpopularity. Other times, it was a staggering decline in support. Together, it has shattered Democratic dreams of building a new majority with the rise of a new generation of young and nonwhite voters. This overarching pattern requires an overarching explanation: Mr. Trump’s populist conservatism corroded the foundations of the Democratic Party’s appeal. It tapped into many of the issues and themes that once made these voters Democrats. While the damage was mostly concealed by Mr. Trump’s unpopularity, the backlash to his norm-shattering presidency drew the Democratic Party even further from its traditional roots. The extent of that damage is now clear. The question is, is this a Trump specific pattern, or will the right be able to keep some of those voters in '26 and beyond?
50 Times Old People Were Completely And Totally Inappropriate On The Internet This Year
First, on Day 1 of his second term, Trump must fire via his Reduction in Force authority 200,000 federal employees, preferably at the GS-12 and 13 levels. Of course the federal employee unions, which should cease to exist, will sue for a stay. That case will likely wind its way through the courts for 18 months or so (unless the Supreme Court fast tracks it). But once it reaches the SCOTUS, the fundamental question to be asked is: can the head of the Executive Branch, the duly elected President of the US, hire or fire whoever he pleases as per the Constitution? Or do the extra Constitutional statutes and regulations protecting the civil servants supersede the Constitution? With this SCOTUS, the odds are they will side with the originalism of the Constitution and give the President the right to hire and fire whoever he pleases inside the Executive Branch, where most of the Administrative State resides. The swamp is the predictable result of having a “professional” civil service. I've long said the patronage system was far preferable. Most folks look at me like I'm crazy.
