The Morning Report — 12/4/24

Good morning kids.

Lawmakers from South Korea’s opposition Democratic Party (DP) managed to defy a lockdown on parliamentary headquarters to table a motion that would invalidate President Yoon Suk-yeol’s declaration of martial law at roughly 1:00 a.m. local time – even as armed soldiers smashed through the windows of the building and moved to clear the assembly floor.
Yoon declared martial law on Tuesday for the first time since the 1980s, citing the menace of “subversive anti-state elements” in the legislature who were blocking his administration’s agenda. Yoon denounced the opposition as “unscrupulous” and “pro-Pyongyang.”

So what happened in South Korea yesterday is frankly something that I expected to happen right here in the good old USA after the election. Since Donald Trump, and that portion of the Grifting Oleaginous Party, GOP, that support or at least stay out of his way along with those of us who voted for him are literally Hitler and the greatest threat to "our precious democracy" (vomit!) in history, naturally enough keeping him away from the levers of power would be the just and moral thing to do, nein?! Well, he hasn't been sworn in yet and January 20th is just around the corner. How many divisions does Vanilli Milley have. Oy, do I really want an answer to that question?!

Another outstanding essay from the estimable Daniel Greenfield offers some interesting insights and perhaps a bit of hope for the long run.

The Left wants to rule, but it also wants to be wanted by the people and by some larger immanent force that it does not quite dare to recognize as a higher power, that is on its side and advancing its righteous aims. After Election Day, its faith is shaken, not in its own theories, but in the American public and in the idea that a right side of history will ever come to America. And yet it must believe. So it will find a way to believe in transforming America once again.

As my dear mother of blessed memory, who herself lived through hell on earth for a year in a place called Mauthausen, reminded me time and again "evil never rests."

Among the first things Trump must do as soon as he utters the words "So help me God" and takes his hand off the Bible is pardon and expunge the records of the J-6 political prisoners, the school board and abotion abattoir protesters and anyone else being held as a prisoner of conscience in the still extant Garland Archipelago. And, please God hopefully justice is truly served with the complete exoneration of Daniel Penny. Both he and Kyle Rittenhouse should be awarded the Medal of Freedom, as Kash Patel and the FBI immediately move to dismantle BLM and Antifa just as the FBI of long ago and far away, once did to that other Democrat/Leftist political terrorist organization the KKK. That means investigating where their money comes from, and cutting off the proverbial head of the snake, be it Soros and whoever provides the conveniently placed pallets of bricks whenever a spontaneous eruption of mostly peaceful burning looting and murdering erupts when the next George Floyd du jour dies while resisting arrest at the hands of a white, or white-Hispanic or even white-black police officer.

If Greenfield and others are even close to being correct in their observation/belief that this past election was indeed a realignment or the beginnings of a poltical/cultural realignment of the electorate away from the Democrat-Left and their destruction, that poses not only a mortal threat to the hold on power of the political Left but on those who are only or mostly really in it for the money, like the Bidens and Pelosis, to name just two. Of course the intoxication of absolute power and the delusion of elitism that they are all under insofar as they have a right to lord over us and even snuff out our very lives, for our own good of course, on top of all that lucre, is a helluva drug.
