The Quotes of The Day
Quote I
“All tech we are relying on is performing adequately, any issues are immediately addressed, and of course – like any big organization – we have parallel backup systems as a failsafe,” Trump campaign political director James Blair
Pam Poulakos and Irene Hombs don’t want to be buried when they die. A standard cremation won’t do, either. The sisters from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, have discussed their end-of-life options at length, and ultimately, they want to serve the greater good.
They’ve decided to donate their bodies to science.

Although I do not comment often on CBD's Food Thread I always read the content. He has never said that this drink cannot be made. So Charles, make one and report to us Morons.
The political analyst Samuel Lubell introduced the concept of the sun and moon parties in 1951. The sun party is the majority party, and “it is within the majority party that the issues of any particular period are fought out; while the minority party shines in reflected radiance of the heat thus generated.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Democratic Party was the sun party for two generations, until the dawn of the Reagan majority. When Bill Clinton signed welfare reform and (falsely) declared, “The era of big government is over,” he was reflecting the reality of that transformation.
In the early 2000s, the GOP receded back into moon status. “But,” as David Brooks noted in 2011, “something strange happened. No party took the lead. … Both parties have become minority parties simultaneously. We are living in the era of two moons and no sun.”
BOONE, Iowa — A new study shows tourists in Iowa spent $7.3 billion for the first time.
The Iowa Visitor Economic Impact data, released for 2023 by the Iowa Tourism Office, reports that tourism-related expenditures totaled $7.3 billion for the first time in the state’s history. That’s a 5.1% increase from 2022. On average, visitors spent nearly $20 million per day experiencing all that Iowa has to offer.

Oct. 22, 1992: The Day Rush Limbaugh Rejected the GOP and Endorsed Bill Clinton
“I can no longer ignore what is becoming obvious,” Rush Limbaugh somberly notified his audience at the beginning of his three-hour show on Thursday, Oct. 22, 1992. His voice — and presumably his heart — was heavy. His tone was unusually forlorn. A melancholy mood permeated the air.
I’ve never seen a more heroic figure than Liz Cheney. She lost her state, probably forever. She lost her party. She lost her leadership in the Republican House. She probably could have been on her way to Speaker.
A 19-year-old Walmart employee was discovered dead in a mysterious incident reportedly involving a large baking oven.
Police responded to calls of a ‘sudden death’ at a store in Halifax, Nova Scotia, around 9.30pm on Saturday, and found a deceased woman.
Where in the store her body was found as not immediately disclosed.
Too soon? Day old baked goods anyone?
