Judge Orders Homeowner to Leave House After Fight With 'Squatters'

In Louisville, Kentucky, Daniel Toma told local station WSAZ 3 that he's been kicked out of his own home after a group of "squatters" overstayed their welcome.

He initially let them stay in his garage while they fixed their car, but they now refuse to leave three months later.

"I just want this nightmare to end. I've been homeless the last few days," Toma told WSAZ 3.

The reported squatters were Toma's friends Amy Davis and her boyfriend, Tyler Sencuk. But the duo is said to have quickly taken advantage of Toma's kindness in letting them stay at his home.

It gets worse. I get that tenants have to have legal protection for their rights, but absent a lease or other legal agreement, this shouldn't fall under tenant protection laws.

Good News, But Why?

The Mystery of the Massive Decline in Drug Overdose Deaths

There's something strange and wonderful happening on the mean streets of America. Drug overdose deaths are down by as much as 30% in some states. And no one can put their finger on a specific reason.

It's probably a combination of factors that are contributing to the massive drop in ODs. The wide availability of naloxone, a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an overdose of opioids, including heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioid medications, is cited as one big reason for the drop in overdose deaths. Naloxone was approved for over-the-counter sale in March 2023. But the drop in the number of overdose deaths predates the FDA's approval.

The crackdown on mid-level dealers and the war on fentanyl manufacturers may also have contributed to the decline, although many in the law enforcement community doubt that the current efforts at interdiction have played a major role.

Whatever the reasons, the decline in the number of overdose deaths is unprecedented. Some addiction experts think we may have turned the corner on the OD crisis.

That's weird. I wonder what caused it?

Conspiracy Theory

Is the wife of Trump's attempted assassin a CIA asset?

What’s that? His wife! We hadn’t heard of this person before. She’s been completely scrubbed from corporate media. How is it that corporate media has failed not only to interview this person but even to mention her?

Pasting lots of pieces together, Routh apparently has recently remarried, to a woman named Kathleen Shaffer. In addition to the CBP report, Shaffer’s name pops up in a few key places. She evidently helped edit Routh’s book, and she ran a small GoFundMe for his Ukrainian adventures. Social media citizen journalists connected Shaffer to the LinkedIn page to a same-named person who fit her profile and lives in Hawaii.

If it’s her, Kathleen works for a giant, international, publicly traded company you never heard of called Maximus.

According to its LinkedIn profile, Maximus Corporation —just wait, you can’t make this stuff up— is headquartered at 1600 Tysons Blvd, McLean, Virginia. Just six miles to the Northwest of Maximus HQ lies Langley, Virginia, where the United States Central Intelligence Agency is located:

Racism As A Career

How did Robin DiAngelo get away with it for so long?

To see how debased ‘progressives’ have become, behold Robin DiAngelo stumping up 30 bucks in ‘reparations’ to an African-American gent. It happens in Matt Walsh’s new film, Am I Racist?, a Borat-style mockumentary that sends up race grifters. Walsh interviews DiAngelo while disguised as a self-hating hipster cracker: ponytail, cheap specs, lame blazer. He brings on his producer, Ben, a man of ethnic-minority heritage. He offers Ben cash, as a small gesture of white regret for the ‘400 years of oppression’ Ben’s people have experienced in America. He invites Ms DiAngelo to do likewise. She’s reluctant, but she does it – she skulks over to her purse, fishes out 30 dollars, and hands it to the black man. ‘That’s all the cash I have’, she says, in pained tones.

Has anyone seen Am I Racist?. It looks lie it might be worth a watch.

Neocon Corner

Why Won’t We Let Ukraine Win?

When Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Putin believed that Kyiv would fall within days and all of Ukraine would soon follow. What’s more, U.S. intelligence agencies agreed. It’s been more than two and a half years and Russia controls roughly 20 percent of Ukraine’s territory—the same percentage it had seized a month into the war. Russian advances have slowed to a grinding pace. Meanwhile, its Black Sea fleet has been largely forced out of its illegal occupation of Crimea and pushed back to its home base by a combination of long-range missiles and ingeniously designed Ukrainian sea drones. (Ukrainian tech entrepreneurs have since moved on to revolutionizing air and land drones as well.) And, most humiliating, in August, Ukraine launched a surprise border incursion into the Russian region called Kursk, where it now holds roughly 500 square miles of Russian territory and hundreds of Russian prisoners of war.

The operation in Kursk served several key purposes. It diverted some Russian fighters from Ukrainian territory. The seized Russian land could conceivably be used as a bargaining chip to bring Putin to a negotiation. But notably, it’s the most spectacular refutation so far of the false and widely held idea that Russia can’t really lose this war.

I take a back seat to nobody in condemning how feckless our current leadership is, but maybe there's a teeny, tiny worry about how Russia would react to actually losing?

Another Opinion

Negotiate with Moscow to end the Ukraine war and prevent nuclear devastation

The New York Times reported Thursday that the Biden administration is considering allowing Ukraine to use NATO-provided long-range precision weapons against targets deep inside Russia. Such a decision would put the world at greater risk of nuclear conflagration than at any time since the Cuban missile crisis.

At a time when American leaders should be focused on finding a diplomatic off-ramp to a war that should never have been allowed to take place, the Biden-Harris administration is instead pursuing a policy that Russia says it will interpret as an act of war. In the words of Vladimir Putin, long-range strikes in Russia “will mean that NATO countries — the United States and European countries — are at war with Russia.”

And the beat goes on.

Hail To The Redskins

Family of Blackfeet chief, face of NFL's Redskins for 48 years, wants his image back in NFL

The family of the Blackfeet chief who served as the face of the Washington Redskins for 48 years want his image back on the fields of the NFL, relatives told Fox News Digital.
The descendants of John Two Guns White Calf also want his incredible life story retold, too, to a new generation of Americans who seek unity and value multiculturalism.

The White Calf family has support in Washington, D.C. from one of their Montana senators, while the NFL franchise itself, now known as the Washington Commanders, is making new efforts to honor the team's heritage.

White Calf's portrait and the name Redskins were erased from the NFL in 2020 following years of mounting public pressure, much of it fueled by the George Soros-funded cancel-culture group, National Congress of American Indians.
,
The celebrated Blackfeet chief and his life story were canceled even as polls showed that 90% of Native Americans supported the team name and White Calf portrait.

We have to stop letting small numbers of fringe people dictate how society will operate.
