The picture is real. They're using the tilt-shift technique. I don't remotely understand it but it makes full-size, real-life things like cities and cars look like miniatures. They used it in the intro of BBC's Sherlock series.

... says that it's a technique for manipulating the field of focus so that only a small area is in focus. Our eyes are used to seeing a shallow field of focus when photographing small things, so when we see large things photographed in a shallow field of focus, we interpret those things as small.

The weekend can't come fast enough. Here are my plans.

These birds are freaking me out. They're doing their best to look like bees or vermin.

Paraglider does some flips and then comes in for a precision landing.

I think this video is from Alaska's annual Fourth of July car launch.
