BREAKING: Senior Vice President at The Walt Disney Company details discriminatory hiring practices: "Nobody else is going to tell you this, but they're not considering any white males for the job," says Michael Giordano, a Vice President of Business affairs, "there's no way we're hiring a white male." Giordano reveals Disney uses "code words and buzzwords" to avoid legal action and even mentions a candidate being rejected for not looking black enough. Giordano also admits Disney gives bonuses to executives for practicing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), agreeing that "diversity helps with financial incentives." Giordano further claims he's been denied promotions due to his race.

Speaking of lawsuits, a judge did not seem inclined to dismiss Gina Carano's unjust termination/sex discrimination lawsuit against Disney.

At a Wednesday hearing, a judge expressed skepticism that the Carano's lawsuit should be tossed before discovery is allowed to take place.

A federal judge has signaled that Gina Carano's lawsuit against Disney and Lucasfilm over her termination from The Mandalorian will be allowed to proceed as the court considers whether the First Amendment allows private companies to sever ties with employees who publicly clash with their values.

U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett on Wednesday pushed back on arguments from Disney lawyer Daniel Petrocelli, who argued that the lawsuit should be dismissed because the company has the "right not to associate with a high-profile performer on a high-profile show who's imbuing" the Star Wars series with "views it disagrees with" that could turn fans away from the show.

Petrocelli urged the court to find in favor of Disney on its First Amendment defense on dismissal rather than at a later stage of litigation after discovery takes place in which it's determined whether the case should be allowed to proceed to trial.

"I'm not convinced there are no disputed facts," Judge Garnett responded. She pointed to allegations that Carano was terminated to deflect attention from Disney's contentious business decisions at the time, including the company's contract dispute with Scarlett Johansson and criticism of Florida's Parental Rights in Education law, which led to the dissolution of its special tax district in the state.

The judge is an Obama appointee, so I wouldn't read too much into these tea leaves just yet.

But Pixar has hit hard times, and they've laid off 14% of all workers.

The head of the studio says they will be turning away from "autobiographical tales" and "director's catharsis" and towards projects with more universal -- that is, not niche woke -- appeal.

Pixar will now be focusing on films with "clear mass appeal" and less focus on the directors' "autobiographical tales" like 'LUCA', 'TURNING RED' and 'ELEMENTAL'

CEO Pete Docter says: "The studio's movies should be less a pursuit of any director's catharsis and instead speak to a commonality of experience. I don't think we can ever let ourselves off the hook of making sure that we deliver the best possible and most relatable films."

So no Covens of Lesbian Space Witches at Pixar, then?
