U.S. Navy Facing Major Shipbuilding Delays While China’s Navy Expansion Accelerates

The review shows the Navy’s Block IV Virginia [attack] submarines, which were bought from fiscal 2014 to 2018, are running 36 months behind schedule….

[T]he Block V [Virginia class] boats bought from FY19 to FY23 projected to be about 24 months behind schedule….
The Navy’s next nuclear-powered aircraft carrier…is also delayed. The future Enterprise, CVN-80, is expected to deliver 18 to 26 months late….As a result, the Navy is delaying buying subsequent ships CVNs 82 and 83, pushing their procurement from FY28 to FY30….
The first Constellation frigate, built in Wisconsin by Fincantieri’s Marinette Marine shipyard, will deliver 36 months later than its contractual delivery date….
As for the more mature surface ship production lines — the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock and America-class amphibious assault ships at Ingalls Shipbuilding, the Arleigh Burke-class destroyers at Ingalls and General Dynamics’ Bath Iron Works and the John Lewis-class oiler at General Dynamics’ NASSCO — the Navy notes these ships are predicted to deliver later than what’s outlined in their contracts.

So the question becomes, when we get kicked in the teeth, and the way the armed forces are being hollowed out, we will, how will we as a country respond?

NeverTrump

Time to Rethink Your Never Trumpism

Let’s look at where our country is right now. It’s in a hole, and our alleged president is still digging. We have a wide open border. Fentanyl is killing tens of thousands a year. Ten million illegal aliens have streamed across. We know many of them are criminals. They’re raping and murdering Americans right now. We can be relatively sure that a significant number of Chinese military infiltrators are among them. That will end badly unless we have a president who will do something about it, which Biden certainly never will. We can also surmise that a large number are active terrorists who, at some point, will launch a killing spree

If Donald Trump is not elected president in November, this will continue for another four years. That is a lot of dead Americans. And you’ve got to ask yourself if protesting mean tweets worth those lives. Because that’s the choice you’re making. Even if you sit out the election, you’re effectively supporting Joe Biden by not actively supporting Donald Trump. Yes, I know you’re upset because there is a binary choice, and I know all the clichés about not wanting to choose the lesser of two evils but guess what? You’re faced with the choice between the lesser of two evils. That’s just the choice that exists. It might not be fair. You might not like it, but that’s what it is. And you’ve got to choose. Not choosing is choosing. Not choosing is choosing Joe Biden. And if you choose Joe Biden, you’re choosing a lot of deaths just because of his border betrayal.

I know every election is “the most important of our lifetime”. Bullshit. They can't all be the most important. I don't like Trump. I think he's a thin-skinned narcissist for whom this entire campaign is a personal vendetta because his feelings are hurt. Instead of laying out a bold agenda, he's whining about 2020. Guess what? I think the Dems stole that election too. But that was 4 years ago, it doesn't matter now. If you want to make things personal, tell us what you're going to do to the bastards, not complain about what they did to you last time. None of that matters. I was never a neverTrumper. I voted for him in '16 and '20, and I will vote for him this fall. Eagerly. Because I think this election does fall into the “most important” category. This country is on the brink after Obama's third term. I'm not sure it will survive a 4th.

NYPD, Focusing On The Important Stuff

NYC mom fined for letting 4-year-old take an emergency wee in the park: ‘Absolutely insane’

They're at the park, and the kid has to go. The restroom is closed, and he's about to wet himself, so she shields him and allows him to pee in the corner.

“My son was like ‘I really need to go – I’m going to pee my pants,’” Sasaki, a professional dancer and actress who lives in Washington Heights, told The Post. It was “an emergency.”

Desperate, the fast-acting mom shielded her little boy as he pulled down his pants to quickly urinate.

Moments later, five or six parks officers approached Sasaki, and, she said, “hounded” her.

“I was bewildered and very confused. [One] aggressively told me that this was illegal and not okay to use the bathroom outside,” said Sasaki.

“He said, ‘Let me see your ID, I’m writing you a ticket.’ My jaw dropped – I was frozen. I didn’t know what to say. I said, ‘You’re writing me a ticket for what? You cannot have a playground and not have bathrooms.’”

Sasaki reluctantly complied and was handed a summons with a $50 fine, with a hearing date of July, 2.

“I did observe the respondent allowing her child to urinate on parks property, next to the public bathroom,” the summons, obtained by the Post, reads.

Well thank God NY is so safe that five or six officers can respond to the emergency of a little boy peeing. Glad the subway's not a war zone and that the knockout game isn't the official city pastime. Otherwise this would be stupid.

OJ's Dead

O.J. Simpson dies of cancer at age 76

And he died on the same day as the guy who murdered his wife and Ron Goldman, how's that for a coincidence? My 19 YO son asked me about the trial and what it meant, and this is what I told him. “The racial rot in this country goes back to that trial. By the 90s, racism was dead. Nobody cared anymore. Oh, there were scattered individual racists, there always will be, but we had racism beaten as a society. But the race hustlers were realizing that if we had beaten racism, their gravy train was derailing. So they cast the trial as being about OJ being black, and not about whether he had killed 2 people. I watched the trial with my boss at the time. He was a black man, college educated, upper middle class, whom I'd known for a couple of years, and I don't think the subject of race ever came up between us. Like I said, nobody cared. We were work friends. When the verdict was read, he stood and cheered. I just stared at him. I didn't understand then that if there was no significant racism in America, there was no need for the race hustlers. I draw a direct line from that trial to the DEI madness that's ripping this country apart today. And the race hustlers are richer than ever”.

Here's 10 minutes of Norm McDonald trashing OJ.

Chevy Teases 2025 Corvette ZR1, the Turbocharged American Supercar

It’s not secret that plenty is not good enough when it comes to the all-conquering mid-engine Chevy Corvette. The base coupe is a performance bargain, a 490-hp rocket that is already knock-knock-knocking on supercars’ doors. Order a Z06, and with an extra heaping of horsepower, better aero, and a harder edge, and you have a half-priced supercar with one of the greatest-sounding V-8s to ever exist. The Z06 pumps out a full 670 hp, and it was a shoe-in for MotorTrend’s 2023 Performance Car of the Year award—a Corvette absolutely swimming in “the kind of special sauce that makes the car seem worth it regardless of price, a sense of total desirability, the feeling that nothing was left on the table.”

Well, what was left on the table was a pair of turbochargers. That’s what the ZR1, which Chevrolet just teased on social media, is bringing to the party. “No #Corvette has ever moved quite like this,” the copy reads. “The #ZR1 is coming this summer.”

900+ HP? Yowza!

Shall Not Be Infringed

Who will ATF shoot next?

The Malinowski family described ATF’s tactics as “reckless and incompetent, and completely unnecessary.”

In their statement, the family points out that ATF had Malinowski under surveillance for days. They had surreptitiously installed a GPS tracker on his vehicle, and undercover ATF agents had made several controlled buys from him at gun shows. More importantly, they knew where he worked and where he lived. They didn’t need to raid his home at zero dark thirty.

“At this stage there is no publicly available evidence showing whether agents knocked on the door or announced their presence, adequately identifying themselves,” the statement reads. “Bryan’s wife Maer only heard loud banging immediately followed by the crash of the front door being forced open.”

ATF had a host of less-lethal arrest options available, any one of which would have spared Malinowski’s life.

They could have arrested him at the Clinton National Airport, where he served as executive director. They could have pulled him over on his way home and arrested him in his vehicle. They could have called Malinowski’s attorney and told him to turn in his client.

If agents were dead set on confronting Malinowski at his home, a callout would have been much safer for all involved. Once the home was surrounded, agents could have contacted Malinowski on his cellphone — they knew the number since they had a warrant to search his phone — and ordered him to come out with his hands up. If he didn’t answer his phone, a bullhorn would have sufficed.

A video from a neighbor’s doorbell camera shows that agents arrived at Malinowski’s home in 10 separate vehicles. If they would have activated the emergency lights in all of these squad cars, Malinowski’s entire neighborhood would have been bathed in red flashing lights. Malinowski would have known immediately there were law enforcement officers stacked outside his home and not criminal home invaders.

Finally, agents could have simply slowed down and waited for Malinowski to answer the door, rather than breaching and storming in, which caused the armed confrontation.

“Absent exigent circumstances (danger of losing evidence-drugs down the toilet; propensity for violence or escape) case law requires law enforcement officers to give dwelling occupants a reasonable time to come to the door and let them in,” Malinowski’s family said in their statement.

Unfortunately, ATF’s raid planners chose the most dangerous option — the one tactic most likely to end in gunfire — that any seasoned tactical officer would utilize only as a final course of action, after all else had failed.

I don't think enough people realize that this raid, or Ruby Ridge, or Waco or dozens of other raids, is not to peacefully resolve a possible crime with an arrest and trial, it's to demonstrate that the government can and will attack and kill you if it wants to, so better do just what they say.
