No Way (x2): Harvard Study Determines That "Disinformation Experts" Are Overwhelmingly Leftists
Because this has been a leftwing information operation all along.
The left wants to censor the right, and to do so, they had to create the rebrand the concept of "disinformation" and then they had to quickly transform a bunch of leftwing Twitter rabble-rousers and gossip-mongers into Credentialed and Officially-Approved-Of "Disinformation Experts."
Then a Consensus of these "experts" -- who, I stress, were just invented in the past five years, precisely so that they could form a "consensus of experts" -- brand rightwing speech "disinformation" and create the predicate for social media companies and the US government itself to suppress it.
That wouldn't work if these "Disinformation Experts" had varied political viewpoints.
So of course the left made sure that only their fellow travelers could be Credentialed Up from Twitter Snitches to Disinformation Experts.
David Strom points out that it's almost immaterial that they're all leftwingers, because the entire project of attempting to impose government-coordinated-and-backstopped censorship on political enemies is illegitimate and unconstitutional and criminal from the start.
But this extreme bias towards the left proves that this entire project was created by leftwing Marxists only for purposes of shutting down non-Marxist speakers.
A new study by the Harvard Misinformation Review tells us what we already knew from experience: "misinformation" experts are an ideologically homogenous group of people who all see the world similarly.
Experts leaned strongly toward the left of the political spectrum: very right-wing (0), fairly right-wing (0), slightly right-of-center (7), center (15), slightly left-of-center (43), fairly left-wing (62), very left-wing (21).
The misinformation experts represent a broad range of scientific fields. Experts specialized in psychology (39), communication and media science (32), political science (22), computational social sciences (17), computer science (9), sociology (8 ), journalism (8 ), philosophy (5 ), other (4), medicine/other (2), linguistics (2), history (1), physics (1).
They are all Left-wing. The modal "disinformation expert" classifies himself as "fairly left-wing," and 85% of them classify themselves as at least somewhat left-wing.
If the project actually had the intention of just cleaning up the "information streams" without regard to the politics of speakers, they could have afforded to do what they usually do, and invited in one conservative for every five or six liberals to "make it look good."
But they didn't even want to allow in 16% or 20% conservatives. No, to outlaw conservative speech, all of the participants would have to be ax-grinding leftwing Marxist thought-controllers.
